Not quite, the ITK suggests Poch wants Toby out. Selling Toby for anything over £30m (an old-ish unwanted player in a precarious contract situation) would not be beta dog behaviour. It would be clever.

Anything more than getting rid for decent money will be a bonus.

We know that United want Alderweireld and we know that we want Martial. Just get the straight swap done ffs.

Martial has to come our way whether it's part of deal or otherwise. No way they should get toby while refusing us Martial. Who cleary wants to leave and Man Utd are happy to sell.

My money is on them getting Toby and us not getting Martial.

Tend to agree with that prediction.

Right now, I just want Toby gone. It feels like we just need to get one transfer done to start the ball rolling on the rest of them.

If we can't get Martial, then I'd prefer to sell Alderweireld to anyone else other than United but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any other interested parties. Keep asking myself why that is?

Every other team with the money that we would accept already has their duo set.

Really interesting insight from Gards...
Sorry for pointing out the obvious, but Poch will enrage the fans if the following two things don’t happen.

No they won’t. In poch we trust. There’s a reason why Toby is going and we don’t know why, it doesn’t matter the reason but if he doesn’t want him there it must be big.

There’s a reason Sanchez has been there next to Jan when Toby’s been fit for 6 months.

Look what our manager has done for us, I trust him with our club whole heartedly.

I really believe the club is doing everything they can, and have been somewhat unfortunate and stubborn at times. With the new stadium I fully trust that we get some eye-catching signings, but a bit too late. Levy is not stupid, he will know that the likes of Poch, Kane, Eriksen and the fans expect ambition to be shown.

Really appreciate this forum and the insight we get! Will donate some during the weekend as this must have been one hell of a window for the admins!

If we get Martial, it'll be cash plus Toby their way. He's probably a bit too near 30 to command the fee that VVD did.

Yeah, taking my Spurs tinted glasses off, Martial is worth more in today's market than Toby, no way we're getting a straight trade as some reckon, we'd have to weigh in some serious cash too I reckon.

Leicester asking for £80m Harry Maguire helped our cause somewhat. I think we'll deal at £55-60m which is probably a fair price despite Toby's age.

I do moan at how hard negotiates deals but in this case it's good to have him on our side. It'd take a brave man to bet he'd blink first. He'll push their reluctance to swap Martial to the absolute limit I'm sure.

I just worry if they stump up the cash where it leaves our attacking options.

Martial's clauses will make it complex, if it happens.

Wouldn't surprise me if United value Toby at, say, £35m and we have to throw in £20m on top to make it declared as £55m or so (or whatever would avoiding sell on percentages for Utd) when in reality it could be considered as £50m TA plus £20m to meet Utd's valuation of £70m - if you get what I mean.

Bit like when we got Vorm for "free", like Levy found him in his box of Weetos :ROFLMAO:

Ah crap. Sorry, that was a typo. Meant to say Levy. Fixed now.

Very true, doubt there'd be anything to stop them doing the deal that way as the lower fees could be argued, its also something you could see Levy offering.

I think if it did happen the deals would be separate and undisclosed. Utd would probably want some form of add ons.

Could imagine Levy and Woodward swapping the contracts in a car park somewhere flanked by bodyguards.

I hadn't released, but Levy hasn't dealt with UTD since Berbatov. The guy (Levy) holds a grudge, if we don't get Martial then I don't think Levy sells them Toby.

Give me those optimistic ratings!! ?

Dunno, Poch seem to want his bad eggs out as soon as possible. Mourinho seemingly thrives on having people in the squad that he can blame and bully.

Who's the most desperate manager, and who can best afford letting a valuable asset lose their value?
