All the ITK seems to be saying the same thing now. It almost feels like Poch is saying to Levy, I want Messi, get me Messi. It’s all well and good wanting to buy Messi but only if Messi has told us he would be happy to come. Otherwise it’s completely pointless. If the targets Poch desires want to come and are avalible then fair enough. If they don’t and are not then move on.

Question is, who the fuck does he want? To improve the first team when everyone is fully fit, that will be going after genuine worldies. To have back ups on par with Kane/Alli/Eriksen etc, that would take some doing to get ready made players. Your talking £100m players!

Would really love to know who’s poch is actually targeting...

If Poch wants to improve the actual starting XI that will by default mean the rest of the squad is stronger because whoever is replaced steps into what some people call a 'filler's role. But it all baffles me a bit so fuck knows how you peasants will ever get your heads around it.

There has to be someone better than winks and Sissoko available. They're good solid players but not amazing. That just sounds like an excuse to me, they clearly aren't even looking

You will find a lot of people are baffled by the suggestion that we can improve a starting XI that hasn't won anything.

Of course. But surely it would be more realistic and affordable to improve on our non-starting squad members, who by definition aren't as good?

Agree, I would absolutely love to know who Poch wants and who Poch is being offered and supposedly turning down. I know we never will, but damn would it be interesting and possibly infuriating.

Maybe we’re just waiting for Toby and Eriksen to leave so that we’re a worse team.... and then by default it will be easier to improve us :woot:.

But that doesn't seem to be what he wants or how he wants to see the squad evolve. Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to just not buy.

If all you do is improve the subs and not the first team, you will not go forwards much, if at all. We have areas in the first team we can and should be looking to improve on.

It seems so. But there won't be any evolution with this approach.

Poch just said some out but doesn’t expect any in.

Assuming that’s because he’s turned down every player on the planet this week

I agree that we can and should absolutely improve the first team. I was just working within the ITK hypothesis that we seem unable or unwilling to do that.

We do appear to be trying a world first while our most talented prospects, Edwards and Onomah, are in the nether world. I'm confused...

I think the problem we have (or poch) is the player has to be good enough and fit into his philosophy of playing along with him not wanting to upset the balance and dynamics of the squad.

To me signing any player will unsettle the dynamics of the squad so needs to be more flexible IMO

I agree with the sentiment, but it assumes that Poch's choices actually do improve the first team. As ITKs have expressed, his choices haven't always done that.
