I have to say that my first impression of JJ's tweet was that Morgan is plan A and the move to us is still on. Honestly a bit perplexed by the other interpretations. It seems quite clear that whatever happens, MS was always our preferred option.

We've been led to believe that until now, but JJ's response seems to point to his not in fact being

This has really surprised me as thats means we are pushing possibly for a top draw player? How confident remains to be seen!

when do we not waste half the window chasing a player who we have no chance to sign.

I would expect 2-3 more Wimmer/Trippier type signings and some bluster about big names that ultimately Levy wont sanction when they wont accept a pay cut.

That sounds like a fun game that @Archibald&Crooks would love to come back to and find...

so...who's starting us off...?

:cautious:

Could plan A be Rabiot, in that we obviously tried for him in Jan only for him to stay at PSG as they promised him more football. His mother/agent has come out this summer and said he feels he needs to leave PSG this summer. If he's forcing a move and we've turned our attentions back to him having drawn up a list with Schneiderlin at the top on the basis that we couldn't get Rabiot. Hence plan b & c after Schneiderlin and Imbula being our original plan A?

I'm hoping Plan A is Arturo Vidal.

That would really piss Arsenal off :sneaky:.
Some of you are getting the hang of the game, some not so much...

Maybe Schneiderlin is plan A and we are not going to give up hope until the situation is resolved either way?

The confusing part of plan A, is the convienience of him only coming to fruition after Scneiderlin has moved elsewhere

It's either

1. Plan A refers to plan C but with a name beginning with 'A'- Who knows who that could be- Toby wouldn't make a great deal of sense unless we'd be sacking off midfield and strengthening in defence instead. Axel Witsel? Andre Andre? Alex Song? Adrien Rabiot? Rely on Dele Alli and sign Alderweireld? Who knows.

2. MS was not plan A potentially meaning that we haven't lost out on our main target yet. That implies a quality player like Kramer or Carvalho etc.

3. Confusingly MS was somehow plan A implying that we are still in for him. Highly unlikely outcome so you can more or less rule that one out.

Hey, whichever player turns up is always plan A.

Just imagine the press conference. "Well, we wanted Schneiderlin, but when Saints did a u-turn, we went and bought Benjamin Stambouli instead. Didn't we Benji?"
