Well, so far I'd say you're about the only one, or at least in the minority.

The rest are bouncing about on their beds, cocks out, pissing on their mattresses. It's actually quite amazing.

What's worse and more worrying, is that some of them roam the streets freely, unsupervised.

Not really, big dog. Saying Spurs is confident it will have players signed by August is tantamount to a parent saying they’re confident they’ll have their kids presents bought by Christmas Eve. It’s a deadline that is already enforced by the actual governing body of football - would be incredibly worrying if we weren’t aiming to have some ****s wrapped up by August.

Yes really. He says BEFORE August not by August. If people are going. to have snide pops, at least get it right. 'Before; could be tomorrow for all we know. And even if that's semantics you know what he means, everyone knows what he means. It's just a cheap cheap shot for god knows what reason.

I think all Poch wants is for the club to make a concrete attempt at signing players early. Where in the past, we left it intentionally late to drive a hard bargain, we won't be doing that this year. That doesn't mean we will get players in early as, of course, there are several uncontrollable factors to a deal.

If @Archibald&Crooks has already had to use the semantics argument in May, this place is going to explode with clusterfuckery shit flakes long before August

Apologies - I didn’t realise anybody was taking a shot at Hercules. I thought most people would have more had an issue with the club seemingly being ready to leave it late again.

I set my expectations sky high during transfer windows, so I assumed we’d have spent £200m by the World Cup.

Instead of getting bogged down in the "before August" bit I'd rather highlight my concern that he's mentioned final third players - plural. I'd much rather see us sign FBs or CMs and I think one addition in the front line, be it Martial or Bale or whoever is more realistic, would be enough in that area.

I think you hit the nail on the head for me. While AM is exciting it's hardly priority 1 for me. CB to backup Jan and replace Toby along with CM Dembele replacement are big gaps.

I guess it depends if Martial is going to be one of Kane's deputies if we sign him. If not we'll probably need someone to replace Llorente.

If it was Martial we were to sign I'd definitely say that one is enough because he can play both striker and AML.

Seeing as the transfer window closes on August 9th, I would bloody hope we've brought in some players by August!!

Maybe Baldy is using the Russian calendar Roman gave him when he showed him around when the Ruskie first arrived in London.

No, you have somehow managed to work out that June and July come before August. For that, I commend you.

Why are you so hell bent on reading the worst in to everything? Maybe after all the good the club has done in recent years it’s time to have faith it might get things right. Or at the very least, no be passive aggressive to those of us who do dare to imagine things are going well and the club knows what it’s doing.

I think the reason people may sound a little apprehensive in their comments here is that it seems like the ITK has gotten a little less optimistic and a little more realistic as this window has opened and progressed (albeit a very short amount of time). This is in no way a criticism of the ITKs as we all very much appreciate them sharing what they hear. But for instance, Herc sounded very very optimistic in early May (update 11), sharing info that Spurs will spend more than $150mill that does not rely on sales, and that they wanted three priority signings in early, possibly four.

In update 18, Herc shared info that said "We are willing to sanction those deals (if they can be done relatively quick) before selling." So people started to think that the $150mill wasnt net spend so that put a bit of a damper on things.

Today he shared that the team hopes to get two (instead of three or four) in before August (although he did say "at the very least"). I just think the word "August" is what most people saw and got a little worried because that is after the World Cup and two months away. Yes it could be before that, but it seemed like getting deals done early meant before the WC.

I would guess that some are hearing this info (including me) and are wondering if this is Levy backtracking on his promises to Poch and if Levy just can't help himself by waiting and stretching things out to get a better deal. I think there is also maybe some bad luck at work here as for instance it sounded like Sess was on as long as they didn't get promoted, and well, they got promoted. DeLigt seemed to be on as well but then other bids got up near $70 mill and Spurs are priced out (which most would agree is sensible on their part). It sounded like Toby would be sold for a good price and now it sounds like they are having trouble there. So maybe a combo of Levy's history of stalling plus a difficult market is affecting outlooks here. Sounds like they had big plans but have had to adapt those plans a little due to things they can't control.

I think a big signing in the next two weeks or so before the WC starts would go a long way to making fans feel optimistic. For instance, if even just one of Martial or Pulisic or whoever is finalized and announced soon, then any anxiety of Levy being Levy would likely go away. If nothing happens before the WC however, well then things get more worrisome.

I read that has Herc was saying we’re confident of signings before August. Two of which were forward signings in which the club are optimistic of pulling off. Not the fact that the forward players were priority, for all we know the other signings coming in before August may well be the defenders you desire.

Following ITK one would imagine it would be Pulisic and Martial (or who ever we would buy instead of Martial)
