Obviously Isco and Rabiot would be good, but if they don't want to come I don't think anyone in world football would be surprised. The scarry thing about this situation is that it could never change. And what happens if we loose Eriksen... I hope Skipp is going to be up to speed by then. At some point someone will have take charge of this situation as we will only get weaker next season.

Getting the unrealistic players that Poch wants, just as he did with AVB.
If they're unrealistic then whose fault is that?

Sounds like we're still at the same place we started this window. Nothings changed then.

Our budget must be 2m then if there is no one within the budget he likes, surely this can't be right... assuming our budget is around the 100m mark he likes no one that is cheaper than that? Does he want Messi or something?

Sounds like Poch has been flirting with the likes of Isco and Rabiot but the night is drawing to a close and they're not showing much interest. There are more attractive options in their mind if they remain patient and come back another time. So Poch can either accept a minger instead or risk leaving with nothing. Daniel Levy is probably keeping a couple of mingers interested with small talk (and maybe a couple of party tricks) just in case.

Thanks for the info. I don’t really see the problem. You have a list of who you want. If players aren’t on it they ain’t coming.

The state of our football club at the moment in one sentence.

I think this 100-150 mill budget is just fairytales. Seems like at best its 50% of that.

Whats really strange is the conflicting info though..ITK said that we wouldnt sign Werner because we would have to spend 70% of our budget on one player...but now we are hearing that its Poch turning down players as he doesnt think they are good enough. If Poch is really being backed by Levy then surely we would spend 70% of the budget on one if that is the only way that Poch gets who he wants? Its just not adding up.

Sounds like its just one big cluster fuck at the club and nothing is going to plan. Nobody knows whats going on and we are standing still due to this.

Ive come to terms that we will sign nobody and tbh I could careless now. The fun feeling around the club has been crippled and my interest has too.

Thing is, if you're Poch and you've spoken to players of the ilk of Isco and Rabiot and think you could bring them to Spurs, you would hope the club could get at least one over the line. I can kinda understand why he's reluctant to hold on until those players move elsewhere.

I'm sure he has been offered a lot better alternatives than AVB was however, Tielemans could be a perfect case in point.

I’m not saying it’s Levys fault, but that doesn’t change the situation. It’s all looking very negative right now.
It's the very same position we started the window in, it's only negative to those who thrive on the news/want of buying and selling of players.

And if he's spoken to them and they've said they're not interested in a way that has nothing to do with money, I fail to believe that Poch is going to be stubbornly sitting there going well it's these players who don't want me or nothing.

If Jansen was all on Poch and has also been frozen out by him then surely Poch must realise that maybe he needs help in scouting players and listen to others recommendations?! Maybe he has considered them but he sounds very stubborn and as others have said there must be attainable targets on the list. Yes aim high but we could still improve despite not getting our ‘first choice’ options.

So have we all decided we are discarding Pochs ability to scout players even though he has an excellent track record of turning average players into top class players which I'd argue means he has a keen eye for a player because of 1 shit transfer?

I’d quite like to know why we can’t do a deal for Rabiot, for instance. And if it’s that he doesn’t want to come then I can’t understand why Poch seemingly wouldn’t move on. It’s clear we need players and he will know Eriksen is going too.

Our budget will be the 11m we got for Dembele and whatever we got from loan fees last summer that we never spent. All these excuses and reasons are completely irrelevant in my opinion. It must be just one big coincidence that when we sold Bale suddenly players are being signed left, right and centre and when we sold Walker suddenly we’re chucking 40m at a centre back. It can’t possibly be that we only ever spend what we make from sales, and only ever will.

Just watch what happens in the summer if we sell Toby and Eriksen, this impossibility to sign anyone at all will magically disappear.

I'd be more concerned about the turning down of players, this happened during the summer window and is happening again now. They can't all be bad footballers.

I never said we should discard it but just commenting that maybe he does need help, if he can turn average players into class why is he ‘apparently’ targeting elite players? Why can’t he sign some good players and make them elite?
