People can pray for Rabiot as much as they like but it's almost certainly the case that PSG will not sell him. He's homegrown, and let's face it, that's probably the only reason they are buying Stambouli, so why then let another homegrown player go? It would be counter-productive.

I'd be very pleased with Kramer or Rabiot, but I'd be more than a little concerned that they wouldn't hit the ground running, wouldn't be here for the right reasons etc. McCarthy is premiership-proven and is, apparently, itching to join us. That makes him a much more attractive proposition.

There is definitely something to be said for having a non-flashy but talented work horse in a side, especially when he could give Bentaleb and Alli a platform to flourish. I also think McCarthy is a more talented player than many are giving him credit for.

Well Vergini has just left on loan so the Kaboul rumours could have legs. Shame, could have been immense. Never the same since the big injury. How many times do we say that?

I'd be very glad to see the back of Kaboul. I never rated him as a player and he doesn't seem to have been a good dressing room influence.

It also puts more pressure on Ade to accept a move, if 2 out of 3 of his gang are gone (with just Lennon remaining).

There's further ITK on FTL that Kaboul has a medical this afternoon at Sunderland.

Could get someone in trouble so not posting names or context.

Vergini just left on loan too, good chance this happens, just pray the medical doesn't end it.

Can you imagine the level of "Le Sulking" that a French mummy's boy can achieve?

Ask yourself this then. Would you be happier if tomo we signed McCarthy rabiot/Kramer?

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. Yes Kramer is a great prospect but we have just had four transfer windows of Spurs buying so called superstars with no Premier League experience and them not performing as to what was expected of them and their inflated price tags.

It wasn't so long ago we were finishing closer to the top 4 or in the top 4 than we have done the last two years when we had a policy of buying Young British talent or players that had premier league experience if you ask me James McCarthy has that 100% and was the standout performer for years in an awful Wigan side and now the standout performer for an underachieving Everton side.

Baring the signing of wimmer that's exactly what we have started again. Which for me is very exciting.

The Kramers and Rabiots are all very exciting and perhaps the 'bigger names' people want to see but who's to say they are going to take to the Premier like a duck out of water just look at Lamela for that.

Welcome HemelSpur I agree with your thinking. We do need experienced PL players coming in and now MS has gone JM is the next best PL player.

I lived in HH for about 10 years back in the 70's. Was the first ever HH player to represent Hertfordshire at darts.

Ironically, villa is probably the best place for Andros to go right now; tim will let him do his drunk puppy routine to his hearts content. He'll probably do pretty well for them (that's relative of course) and play every week.

Troy needs to see the big picture here.

I agree but I do feel Kramer has the attributes to really succeed here. I think the Bundesliga is probably the closest to PL in style and the team he played for last season played a similar style to us.

That said there is something to be said for such logical signings as JM would be. Safe but good enough to be an almost nailed on starter. First time we got CL was with players like Defoe, Crouch, Huddlestone and Lennon.

Drexl you really are something else. I rate one of your posts spam and then you actually go back and find one of mine to do the same to? Tit for tat? I really don't mind the neg or even neutral ratings - not a problem, but to go back and find one and do that is so childish. How old are you FFS? :ROFLMAO:

Anyway in a parallel universe, I have mixed feelings over Townsend. Can't help thinking he could suddenly turn into a decent player given a proper run in a side. A double figures a season sort of player. We would need a decent amount of money to let that gamble go. The other thing is that he has pace - only Walker can provide that at the moment. If we do buy a wide forward then I really hope he does have some pace also.

agree with the first part, but a deal for this lad is evidently worth taking down to the wire. Stambouli can play, but is willing to sit on the bench providing cover for the most part- on nice terms of course. Don't think his mum is quite so aggressive either!

Nice first post. Wholeheartedly agree with it to.

McCarthy, despite only being 24, has a huge amount of PL experience already. The truth of it is he's no flashy pass master or sexy play maker - but he's very good at doing all the basic requirements in midfield. Especially his positional sense and reading of the game.

He's a good fit for us as we lack that sort of nous in there and I think we'd definitely improve as a team as a result.

For me its one of those signings on the surface that won't excite people but could really ignite us as a team.
