Everything I am told is thus far to plan, and we do believe we will finish the window in a better position than we entered it.

We merely believe? That is very worrying and disheartening to hear nor does it sound very confident or convincing from the info you got.

The only team in the league that could stay unchanged and still compete/win the league including having a guaranteed Top 4 is City for us that really isn't a option.

Our closes rival Liverpool has already strengthened significantly pushing as us back to potentially 4th and that's only if Chelsea and Arsenal don't spend more or don't click again next season, which I think is very unlikely.

It is starting to look rather grim when it comes to us for next season.

This season started looking grim when 9 of our starters were playing in the WC into July, Son was released for the Asian games in August, and we don't have a home match until nearly October.

We're basically playing catch up from the start.

Really? Both have new, unproven (in the EPL) coaches and Chelsea's driving creative force has openly talked about leaving...

There's no guarantee with transfers.

So, just like the last three seasons, eh?

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

We are turning into the anti-Liverpool: "Next year is the year it all comes tumbling down. Just you wait and see..."

I very much agree, but I at least hoped we would have countered that somewhat by signing some real quality that can take some of the burden off of the those WC players.

Emery is a great coach who was successful at multiple clubs with what he had, the only reason he was sacked at PSG was for lossing to Barca and RM in the CL and that isn't the quality he is going to be facing in the EPL on a regular basis, also lets not forget that Arsenal picked up just 3 away points this whole calendar year.

As for Sarri he is a hiring that had a very succesful season at Napoli and getting as close as anyone in recent time has come close to taking Juve's league title. and he won't have a team that is playing against him like Conte had.

I wouldn’t worry too much. If Trix relays that the plan is unfolding as expected and it is because of this that they believe they’ll be in a better spot, that’s a good signal. As no team, outside of the super rich can say with utmost certainty—especially in a WC year—that they’ll finish out the window stronger. So, if what they are seeing start to come together aligns with their blueprint for the window, I too would be cautiously optimistic. My very uneducated guess, is that we will see a flurry of activity during the last two weeks of the window. With an outside chance we secure one signing before the US tour.
Many ITK have stated time and again, due to our budget, we have to do things that require patience and a bit of brinkmanship. I don’t doubt that Levy and others accept that they must invest and progress, or run the risk of losing a coach they trust and players that are the stars of the club.
Personally, after seeing the ITK today I’m stoked.

"Our closes rival Liverpool has already strengthened significantly pushing as us back to potentially 4th"

This is said at the start of every season and we still end up finishing ahead of them. What is it now 8 out of the past 9 seasons ?

Why don't we wait until the end of the transfer window before predictions are made ?

Well they weren't nearly as threatening in the past as they are right now so there is legit reason for concern. They are also not wasting their money on trash, instead on established and high profile players.

So that's why your rating bar looks like the Italian flag, then....

Not one to care about imaginary internet points that are meant to serve as some sort of disguised "validation" and approval; as forums are always a popularity contest. If it wasn't for those ratings online communities would be much better off as people could actually express their opinions more openly with out feeling persecuted for it.

Help me get that red bar to the middle I sure as hell don't want to be another one of those status quo fans that is part of a impenetrable echo chamber.

The Goat hears that a few deals are ‘close’ but with at least one of them we aren’t the only club who think that way

Isn't there a certain "in the middle" player that has been mentioned in the past. An Italian team thought they had a typical Loan-to-buy deal all done. That deal failed, and now the Italian team still thinks they have a deal. Maybe Spurs have structured a better deal that is a full purchase - But Spurs don't want their possible deal to be public.
