Dembele

Still expect him to go, but apart from him no other first teamers are leaving. Trying to shift most of the fringe players and a couple of youngsters as well.

/QUOTE]

Vote of confidence for Sissoko, unless he’s considered beyond the fringe.

Interesting that things are starting to move. Exciting few weeks ahead.

Us having competition on key signings worries me but we are in a much better place than previously, with CL football, world class training centre and stadium, and the improved wage budget. Does suggest we are in for top signings though.

Thanks Trix, Hercules and The Goat.

Parvard info is interesting. I wonder how long we've been looking at him? You'd assume that we've been looking since before the world cup.

The backtracking by Toby's agent makes it sound like he really wants to stay. Shame he messed up the negotiations so badly.
Check out the player thread - discussed over there, with links dating back to March, I think.

Yep, there’s previously been ITK on him. Stuttgart owner said ‘£30m’ was nowhere near enough. Add his WC performances and you’re talking de Ligt valuation. He’d be a very astute signing given his versatility. Very much like Dier but a much better engine. He is a bit weedy though so would need to beef up as a CB. That then adds further issues in that he’s a very competent RB but we’re massively stocked at RB. Then again, if we can sign him it’s too good an opportunity to turn down.

Don't know how true but read an article stating Stuttgart looking for upwards of €65 million this window but reduces down to €35 million next summer due to release clause .

So can I get this right?

Sissoko isn't leaving?

Fuck me.

That's not really clear, all we know is that no first teamers beyond dembele are set to leave, but fringe players will.

Best to avoid discussions on whether Sissoko is one camp or the other, as it's impossible to know.

Well considering Sissoko played nearly every game last season I'd say he wasn't a fringe player.

If hope with some summer additions he'd very much become a fringe player.

He is nowhere near good enough for our squad. But that's for another thread.

He was never a first team player also.

I'm hoping that Pavard would be a signal that we're trying the back 3 again. The WC showed that Trippier's best position is as a more advanced right sided player.
