I'm a Spurs supporter. Please can you explain the meaning of the word "optimism"? ;)

You know that incredibly fleeting feeling you occasionally get after something positive happens, that is almost immediately replaced by getting smashed in the gonads by a wrecking ball....that's optimism

It rarely makes sense to feel it, for fear of the inevitable follow up

Good news. Hope Daniel brings home Bale and Modric.
TBF Lads, You ITK boys Said Bale for months now.... It makes sense tbh, as he fits for the Premiership & Champions League.

My Three is: Gareth Bale (50 Million) - Ryan Sessegnon (40 Million) & Matthijis de Light (50 Million).... That's if we loose Toby & Sissoko only! This means we will bring in 75 million on sales, so there is room for one more Player coming in. ⚽ #COYS

Do not think Alderweireld deserves a new fat contract. A sulking idiot who has largely delivered a poor season with little impact and created a fuzz is unworthy. If he has all of the sudden fully recomitted and is gung-ho about next season, yeah maybe a little improvement is fine. But he is not worthy of a golden contract, the way he has behaved and most importantly played on the pitch.

Sorry but when has he been a sulking idiot?? Whether he deserves a pay rise based on fitness/performances is a fair arguement but I haven’t witnessed him be anything but professional.

love this to be true, the smugness of shearer last night on motd - spurs will not change etc. twat!
The cut and paste job of the press conference was set up for Shearer to make his statement and appear interesting.

So much positive news going into our new stadium, I mean if we really get a war chest and buy some quality players we will be making a title push and we've done that in 2 of the last 3 seasons anyway.

Will we catch City......that's going to be incredibly hard but I guess with the right player's everything is possible. Bring it on, as the stadium is a game changer on and off the field

Thanks to GF, as usual.

One thing about his input........ why will the new contracts be sorted first?
Surely some players will want a positive sign from the club that we are going to invest in/buy top players.
Actually make purchases not hearsay.
I'm not so sure they'll accept Daniels word readily and will want to see the new players signed before committing themselves to longer contracts even if including a pay rise.

I'd guess that one of the contracts is for Poch. If he signs then our star players are more likely to sign new deals and this also sends a message out to potential signings.

If you wake up on the day of a match, having slept well, not been retching and making frequent trips to the loo, then, my son, you will have reached the heady heights of optimism.
