Things are looking good for MM & MS...

Southampton made 2 signings today, so i kinda think MS will be confrim next week. Same for MM, IIRC they already got a replacement, i feel we are stalling until we offload one (or even two) of the CB that were rumoured to be on the sale list. You know Levy by now, he knows if we announce we get a new CB, clubs will low ball since we will be "desperate" to sell....

so i do expect.... a defender to leave, we confirm MM, Soton bring in one or 2 more new comers, we get MS. and then we will see how the market goes... may have some reaction signing if we get good offers on the other players on the sale list, or else the deadline day will be filled with our players going out on loan.

kinda think it could be a quiet deadline day.

By the same token, when the selling club see us moving unwanted CBs out, they'll know that we must buy and they can move their goalposts.

They made two signings to replace the other ten that have already left, and they havent bought any center midfielders. Neither are looking very good right now

trying to channel positive vibes here.... :D

think Taider is a good stop gap, Garddos can also play as a DMC, but i think they will bring in a few more. They are linked to be closing in on a host of players..... Welbeck (or Kike or Nsue both from Boro), Sam McQueen, James Husbands & Matthew Lowton (think he is a RB but can slot into CM). Thou they do lack experience against top sides, they are exciting young players who should please the fans and allowing to to get MS.

yap agree, we will announce everything at the same time. hence the reason its been a long long wait. but i think it will happen next week.

They'll make their point if they don't sell him until after the first game of the season. I'm sure some team has done this before.

If that is the case, I would tell them to go pound sand, and wait until next summer and sign Jay Rodriguez on a free and offer about £7M for Schneiderlin

oh well..... i could be wrong...

still think he will force his way out... this "Gentleman's agreement" sounds like Modric loll

“I reminded the chairman of our gentleman’s agreement when we were in Dubrovnik last summer and I agreed a contract extension with Tottenham,” Modric told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.

“At that time, I had an open chat with Levy – that if a bigger club came in with a concrete offer, we would consider it and agree the best solution for all concerned.

“Now Levy doesn’t want to talk to me and said there is no possibility that I can leave Spurs. He threatened me – he said if I didn’t accept the club’s stance, they would make me sit on the bench or in the stands.”

I wonder if we will see this from MS.

We can wait. If it happens deadline day bonus. If not we're more than ok. All about centre back for me.

The problem is that we would've let the player down. These things are always troublesome. And he could easily choose to accept another office because he feels we didn't try hard enough.

I remember this happened with Gareth Barry and Liverpool they pulled out because of the costs after GB had forced the move. They left him high and dry and with bridges burned between him and Villa. Next window he left for Man City.

It's not our fault if Soton making a stand. If happened be great as worked under Poch & can hit ground running. It was him or no one though in regards CM for me as have a lot of confidence in what we have.

That's YOUR view of things. He and his gent may think we are partly responsible for not paying up after we'd agreed personal terms.
