I don't actually think it's important really. Both Gomes and Cudicini have us covered in goal, and a call back on Button would've been ok if desperate. But still a decent enough signing nonetheless. Not sure we'll see much of him, if at all.

But although he appears to have made a remarkable recovery, we don't know whether Cuddly's really up to the job any more. (Some would suggest he wasn't before the accident.)

And to take SSs point even further, I actually believve Carlo will be more of an elder statesman form now on; perhaps you should look at it this way...even if The Octopus is injured (which does happen...he likes a good boo-hoo, don't he:grin:), we can have Carlo on the bench. Now that is some strength in depth :wink:
