@Archibald&Crooks Maybe we can have a Sad face rating on the forum. Just to express sadness at the news we here rather than making it look like we're having a go at ITK. Of course we're always grateful for the news, but sometimes it's not always positive. Nelson and Saha spring to mind.

Or just don't rate the ITK. It isn't difficult.

My onions on the various ITK we have had this window:

1/ Levy really isn't changing his spots. We seem to be sticking to the system that has worked so far. The only significant difference is that our recent success means we can pay higher wages than previously.

2/ The first priority is to hold on to what we have. New deals for Poch and Kane will undoubtedly be followed with similar for Eriksen and Alli and anybody we want to keep or think we can sell for good money.

3/ We look like we will be going for mid priced prospects again. Some will work out and some won't but historically we've done well in this area under Levy and even when they haven't worked out we get most of our money back. Levy has been burned before by paying for 'proven quality' with little sell on value if they fail and I bet he still wakes up screaming about it.

4/ We will not pay the early buyer premium. I'm not expecting too many incomings until the mega money clubs have had their turn at the buffet and selling clubs realise that the leftovers might not command the prices they were hoping for. We are then a very attractive proposition for players and we should get some great deals.

5/ This (for the most part) is the way the club has been run since ENIC took over and unless we are sold to an oligarch it's probably as good as we could hope for. I'm not expecting us to sign Bale or Martial or Milinkovic-Savic so when we don't i'm not going to be disappointed. I've been supporting Spurs for a very long time and i've seen some dark days but i'm as optimistic now as I can ever remember. I probably won't like most of the players we buy and sometimes i'll be right and sometimes i'll be wrong but it looks like we at least have a plan and that's all i've ever really asked for .

Thanks for the info Herc.

I'm gonna celebrate the Eriksen contract regardless though, absolutely pivotal to us and the big boys are starting to give him cheeky winks.

It’s a great thing that all of our players are signing up, yet another statement of intent by us moving forward.

Agree with most of that

However, HY's ITK states that we want the PL title and anything else will be seen as disappointing

Poch and Levy will know that you can't do this without signing a big, big player or two; our rivals certainly will

And Herc has said in the past that finances aren't an issue anymore, with us now going for players that the likes of Pool or Chelsea would be after previously. He also hinted that new business/sponsorship deals would cement this

So perhaps it won't be 'business as usual' afterall?

There seem to be a lot of cases where "doh" or "wtf" are rated accidently when scrolling on mobile, so moving the post ratings away from the scroll bar is also a possible fix

Drag it out as long as the club can. All major contracts renewals signed/agreed! Announcements pure politics etc. So if you are like me, becomes anti-climax, until new players have signed. Not a dig; just keeping it real and as I reveal. Grealish will eventually get done. I would be absolutely shocked if not, as 25 will do it, with ads-ons etc.

My educated comments above.
I do wonder if some of our fans grasp the significance of the contract signings. Kane, Eriksen, Dele, could pick any one of the top sides in Europe and they'd all want them. The fact they've all chosen to sign for us again is a massive statement in how far we have come in recent years. They could've held out until after the WC and considered their options but it looks like they've chosen to extend their contracts with us.

I'm not naive enough to know that they may well jump ship one day, but for now they've committed to us and I think that is a huge confidence boost for the club and its fans. It could well sway those better targets we're after to join now too.

Remember all the other fans have been saying the past 3 seasons that the team will break up and we'll lose them all as well as the manager. Well, they're still here and it would appear they'll be around for a couple of seasons more. And that to me makes this the best transfer window in years.....

Herc did not say that. He said failure to win a Cup would be a failure.

If Herc claims he’s a Flat Earther or Trix has the hots for Vanessa Feltz, are they immune to a WTF rating because they are ITK? I get the don’t Neg ITK, but there’s a balance.

I don't have the hots for her, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't have a go.

Grealish is a goer though btw if we can agree a fee. Player and agents happy etc.

Anyone else think Trix said "Grealish is a gooner though btw" at first glance?...?

Hopefully we can get this deal done soon, I'm sure other clubs will be in for him if they're not already...

Has there been any ITK on stadium naming rights ? I know we all want ITK on new players but quite frankly the most important news we get this summer will be how much we get for the naming rights, it will have a massive impact on how much we can spend on transfers.

Cheers Herc, great news on contracts.

Currently in hospital with my wife being induced for our first baby and this place is going to be keeping me entertained so lots of ITK please!

Congrats. Baby has to be named after our next signing!

Maybe this is more belonging to the stadium topic threads?

It'd probably be in the stadium thread if there was any, I think this is just transfers and contracts ITK.
