I find myself much more invested if one of the English lads is playing, which is quite often.
Baseball is barely even a sport.

I met an American guy when I was travelling who was a big baseball fan, I used to tell him that it’s not baseball it’s rounders and girls used to play it at school ?

Without Smith and IF we manage a win it will be slightly hollow for me!

Not for me! We deserve to be at least level in the series. We would have won the first test with Anderson and we probably would have won the second test had Australia not been allowed to make a substitute for Smith. I completely understand why the rules are different for concussion but does seem a bit unfair that one team could make a sub for an injury and the other couldn't.

Do you find the 2005 Ashes victory hollow? If McGrath hadn't got injured we probably would have lost 5-0!

Why Steve?
Do u think their victory in the 1st test felt hollow for their fans as we had no Archer/Anderson?

Yeah its odd, it should be the same rule across the board.

Allowing subs for other injuries would be carnage especially when it involves teams like Australia that like to bend the rules. I guess ideally there should be no subs and players/teams should be honest about concussions.

Steve Smith is IMO probably the best batsman in the world. I want us to play the best team and win.
That my onion. Magrath was a good call. Anybody of true world-class quality missing from a side will always diminish the achievement of beating them ever so slightly in my book.
Still ah! let us grind them into the dust.......

I hope they've got some ambulances lined up outside for when Archer gets firing.

Slightly mixed feelings here, as Labuschagne was my club's overseas pro in 2014 season. I'll take another 50 for him and Australia all out for 175 (y):sneaky:

This is genuinely farcical.

No players have complained about light, it’s 4pm on a summer afternoon, the lights are on but the players have gone off for bad light.

I love cricket, but this shit is just ridiculous.

This will kill test cricket for the younger fans IMHO
