Credit to Roy too after fumbling earlier on in the over he kept his nerve and put in a perfect throw for butler to smash the stumps.

Thought the first ball wide was harsh personally. Neesham moved across his stumps and the ball was on the line

You call Archer "pathetic" after 2 balls; he then wins you a World Cup. You don't apologise to him - but instead revel in the victory his coolness under pressure provided.

Yet you think I'm being over sensitive?

Have a word with yourself.

Yes... chill out.

They’re very strict in limited over cricket. The only way it wouldn’t have been a wide was if Archer followed Neesham eg if N was stood really wide and Archer slammed the ball into his shins.

Brilliant composure by Roy... thought it was easily 2 two runs, never expected a run out.

Can you just point out that it was a pathetic ball he bowled but, overall, he kept his nerve and saw the over out?

Surely that's how passionate fans work on the Internet? We scream abuse at someone for a fraction of a second, then declare our love for them for some minor achievement, like, say, WINNING THE WORLD CUP?

Thing is his first delivery hit the tramline and was harshly called a wide. It as a great delivery. Second delivery was fine. Then Neesham his the ONE BAD BALL for six.

Imagine being called pathetic buy some red-faced screaming fat **** on the internet and then winning the world cup. Scenes

Hmm, you have a point ...

Brexit means cricket!

There’s a good 3-4 players in the current England one day squad who weren’t born in England. The test squad a couple of years ago had 5-6 players whom were born overseas.

Allowing Archer to play for England was very controversial.

"poor" is not the same as "pathetic".

"pathetic" does not win World Cups. That kid just did - and thanks but I'll celebrate him and excoriate pathetic "supporters" and not think its over the top - ever.

It's really that simple.

Some could call the first ball pathetic, which it kinda was. No need to get upset about it.

He did improve on his last ones and helped win the game, I agree.

It hit the fucking tramline. It was a great delivery harshly called a wide.

Even so to say it's "pathetic" under that pressure is, in fact, pathetic. And embarrassing.

1) I’m sat down calmly
2) I’m certainly not fat
3) I suggest you grow up and give it a rest with the personal insults

The umpires are told now that the batsman's position can be taken into account. I've seen balls well outside the tramlines not given as wide because the batsman had moved right across.

It was a wide, called a wide and not a great ball.

Even great people in cricket and other sports can do something pathetic yet then still go on to produce something great to win the game.

Chill out man.

It's not like I called a kid who just won a World Cup under the greatest pressure possible "pathetic" or anything.

Don't think anyone called him pathetic, just the first few deliveries, it has been said a good few times now, thought you would have got it by now (y)
