Its a problem alright Arnold. And it started with Strauss leaving. You'd think a bit of batting discipline would be a straight forward ask....not so.

Agree with this.
Happier with the side today, more batsmen playing in their proper positions.
Burns and Jennings (with a bit of luck) have show better application here they may or may not be good enough in the long term but at least they are trying to bat time and not trying to score off everything.
We should pick the best top 3 around in county cricket (burn plus 2others) with the instructions of not giving their wicket away and grind down the bowlers for our middle to lower order to play to their strengths

Never mind, perhaps he'll get a score in the next game. Or the one after that.

Please can we have a captain who shows at least come sign of knowing what he's doing now?

I think Buster's problem is not only is he not really a Test class opener, but he's also completely out of form, which makes him look worse then he is.

A few airy shots but not to bad. Jennings Im starting to feel sorry for. This is his last outing with England and he knows it,all after a couple of hours of the match.

What is Haseeb Hameed up to these days? He looked fantastic for us before he broke his finger. I seem to remember him having a load of grit. I’m sure last year for Lancashire he scored a century off of 200+ balls.

If he did, it was the highlight of his season. He couldn't buy a run last season and Lancashire dropped him to the 2nd team.

Possibly the worst thing to happen to the test side in the last few years, that broken finger imo. He looked a perfect Cook replacement at that time. But he's just nose dived since.

sure i read that the thumb injury he had meant he had to alter his technique. literally down to how he even gripped the bat. hopefully he can find something that works for him, he looked very good.
