Appreciate the comment, and very true.
Our stock bowling line up is as good as any in the world. Our issue will be an allrounder, and there you have the advantage.
Batting wise again very even. Smith is a huge in for us as is, dare I say it, Warner. We look so much stronger with Warner, Harris, Usman, Smith and Head. Add the allrounder and Paine then the bowlers, it should be strong. its the number 6 that needs to be right for us. Probably Labuschagne .
Of course you look stronger with that **** Warner in the team. He could have run onto the pitch, stabbed the umpire in the eyes with a screwdriver, altered the state of the ball with an angle grinder, ran of the pitch and buggered the third umpire with a stump, finger banged the wives and girlfriends of the rest of the squad and slung the videos of him sunk to the knuckle on youtube and you'd have picked him the nanosecond his ban was up, which in this case was craftily timed so he missed fuck all cricket of any real importance.

All I read after his ban was how he was the most disliked cricketer in the world, bad influence, the catalyst for all the poor behaviour and nobody would miss him. Yeah right. Australian cricket and fair play. They talk a good stance but the reality is, results before standing in the game, no wonder your CEO quit.

Wankers. Cock wranglers. Jizz clarinets.

I think you guys have the edge in the bowling department at the moment what with Anderson and Wood being out, even if they decided that Archer was worth a slot he’s injured as well and I’d question throwing him straight into an Ashes series.
Our top order tend to throw their wickets away on a regular basis so I think a good outside bet will be no test going into a fifth day!

Hilarious what’s going on down at the Ageas Bowl currently. Supposed to be a practice match between Aus and Aus A bit they’ve mixed up the sides.

105 all out plays 96/7 at the moment after day 1. Keep going lads!

I retract my comments from yesterday. This top order is anything but "top".

Australia are going to absolutely batter these clowns.

Our top order has been nothing short of a fucking disgrace for going on two years now.

So im curious as im not a purist in cricket.

Why is test match so different to ODI? I know the basics i.e. 50 overs etc etc etc but what makes Test Cricket so different that someone who could get say a century in ODI finds it difficult to get a tenth of that in test?

Doesn't seem to matter how you line up the openers. Its the same old story, 42-4! :grumpy:

edit: 42-5

edit: 42-6 :arghh:

A couple of things really:
1. Different mindset. In the one day game bowlers are looking to contain the batsmen, whereas in the test game they are continually probing weaknesses, with an attacking field, and not worrying about losing a few runs.
2. Better, more technical players - bowlers like Jimmy Anderson are at the top of their game, but rarely play one day cricket as it does not suit their game, where they like to attack the batsmen and not contain him as in (1). If there is a weakness in technique they will find it, and exploit it to the full.

More aggressive fields at the start of innings, so edges usually don’t go unpunished, and red balls swing all over the place. It takes a completely different temperament.

I am not looking forward to the ashes with a great deal of optimism.
- their top order, which is so vital in the 5 day game is infinitely better than ours
-our middle to lower order is slightly better than theirs
-their bowling attack has the real cutting edge that ours with an aged (Broad)and now injured Anderson lacks.
Can see this being 3-0 to Australia, with maybe a couple of late summer rain days getting us off the hook in at least 1 test.
