Simple batting wins us that game (Malinga and all) but this "freedom to bat with abandon" seems to be freedom to throw away great positions.

and just adds pressure IMO. not lessen it.

There is a place for "freedom to bat with abandon" but not every time. Ask Kane Williamson?

Am I the only one who sees similarities between the England Cricket team and Spurs? Felt this way for many a year actually.

Capable of brilliance and great things, talked up in the press, but quite often fail to turn up when we really need it and sometimes play as if we’ve had our collective brains removed.

We'll probably qualify easily by winning all three of our upcoming fixtures and have another one of these collapses when it actually counts in the Semi Final, against the same team :D

Not really, the ECB threw money behind Bayliss for this one thing, to win the World Cup on home soil, everything that has happened in the limited overs game has been designed for this moment.

That sounds nothing like Spurs.

Just as an aside, Vince still hasn't lived up the quality(s) he shows at county level, but (I am biased, Hants fan and all that) why is he a scapegoat along with Moe? Yeah, they deserve criticism, but fucked if Bairstow didn't fail again yesterday, along with Morgan.

It's alright putting the poorest team to the sword but when you need an innings to get you over the line time and again the established failed. That's not good enough.

Lastly, what the fuck was Root doing? Second collective brain fart as a group.

We'll see what the decent players are made of over the next three games.

Another low scoring thriller in the making
India v Afghanistan.
Low scoring games because of the pitch or tight bowling
is much more interesting for me
than a 350 run chase.
England hoping that india lose this one.

India will sadly win!
Afghans can't score enough!

I'd love Afghanistan to knock these runs off. Just feel the pressure's gonna get to em.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson scores another century - absolute machine.

Ahh! Just left themselves too many to get in the final over. Good game though, and great Indian death bowling.

Couple of good games today and yesterday. No coincidence that both pitches had something in it for the bowlers

Thrilling end to the WI game - really goes to show the fine margins of top level sport. Inches between agony and ecstasy.

Always much more interesting when the bowlers have a grip on the game
and the bats-people have to use all their skills.

I speak as an opening bowler and hopeless bats-person. (N.London Club level circa 60's)
I once lied about University performances to get an opening bat spot
and was out first ball**. Never lived it down or opened again.

** It was never LBW going way down leg side.

Not good bowling from us so far.
Australia look totally at it, we look like England.
