Great performance from England today. Were pretty much in control of the game, from the moment they won the toss.
Only downer, the injuries to Roy and Morgan. With Buttlers hip, and Woods ankle, we'll be be lucky to finish this WC with the same team that started it.

But it was the half-assed version of the West Indies that showed up!
We were good they were dreadful.

The West Indies are a very dangerous side on a flat track with small boundaries, they had didn’t have either today and lost an important toss too

Would have been a totally different game if we’d lost the toss. Our bowling was spot on today and we really tied them up in the middle overs.
Big kudos to Woakes for his knock as he managed to protect our walking wounded!
Chris Gayle was hilarious, think he knew the game was up when he was called upon to bowl and decided to ‘floss’!?

Sri Lanka going well chasing 335, 106-0 after14.
Hope we see a close finish as this World Cup hasn’t really got going yet, too many one sided game thus far

Be good to see Sri Lanka hand the Aussies a whopping.

Just as I write, feckin wicket falls.

Sri Lanka used to be a great one day side, not really watched too much of them of late, but that opening partnership certainly looked impressive.

Sri Lanka are not the side they used to be. They are in a bit of a transition period after sangakara and a few others retired.

Sri Lanka will need to keep scoring as they lack confidence.
They currently look like rabbits caught in the headlights.

Sri Lankas innings went south pretty quickly. Had a great start, but once Mathews went, you knew they'd fall like dominos.

They've been complaining about having to play on green pitches this WC. Fact is, their one day form over the last couple of years has been woeful.

Boy did Pakistan need that wicket. Had no answer until this point.

...and now they've got to deal with Kohli.

India are batting Pakistan out of this game, and there's still 20 overs left of their innings. If they don't get 350+, Pakistan will have done well.

So DLS

I realise there is no absolute method when it comes to rain delays etc but with the DLS method, whats the point of continuing when you gotta aim for 302 with like five overs left and 130 runs needed which aint going to happen.

I agree.
But I suppose its better than the 22 from 1 ball, they made the South African batsmen go out and finish in a WC years ago.

Pakistan were always better than us head to head except at the WC we don't play each other anymore but India have really gone past them now.

Looking forward to West Indies v Bangladesh today.

At Taunton (9 miles down the road from me)

Boundaries are short at the County ground, makes for some good old fashioned slogging.

Watched both of the matches in the link below, absolutely amazing to see Gayle that weekend.

He can certainly hit the ball, powerful man.
