You only have six months then. Unfortunately Bayliss was brought in to win the World Cup no one can question he has given us a brilliant chance at doing this. However at test level (which is my favourite form of the game) we have gone completely backwards under him. The ecb reserve blame for this as well

ECB has a big issue and it is a lot to do with arrogance! Foakes should never have been dropped! If they had any idea what they were doing they would have started placing specialist players in the team rather than bits and pieces players. Sam Curran should be batting no lower than 7, long term 5 or 6.

I'm not even sure he can take too much credit for the one day revival. It had picked up beforehand as they were waiting for him to take over the head coach role. I think Morgan should get a lot of the plaudits for what happened there.

He is a middle/lower order batsman. It is not his fault that shit batsmen, like Jennings, are exposing him to a new, swinging ball so early on in an innings.

I have almost given up trying to understand what is happening around the running of this team.
It looks so unbalanced and no evidence of any long term planning.
Still don't think Root is the right man as captain - vice captain maybe, but I think we are missing out on getting the best out of someone who is still one of the best 4 batsmen in the world.
