Terry said: "He has got to be able to do that year after year - and for England I hope he does.

"It is great to see young players coming through and getting their opportunities and staying in the squad so if he keeps scoring there's no reason why he can't stay in.

"He is a very good player. His movement is fantastic and he is in great goal-scoring form. But there's still a long way to go."

Not exactly a warning.

Lovely - stick it on the changing room door - it all helps.

Absolutely, nothing riles our players up more than opposing players complimenting ours.
Please - lets just just stick with the headlines - they'll do nicely!
I really have no interest in reading what bland copy the chelsea PR team have made out of Terry's grunts and smirks.

You'd rather criticise someone based on a headline by the Daily Star by than what they said? Truly bizarre.

I truly believe that we have great striker at the club and one who will only improve. His work rate and attitude is exactly what we have been looking for since King and before him Mabbutt retired.

A true leader of men!

Terry has yet to master the smirk.

When it comes to Terry, normal rules of courtesy do not apply.
It's not about rules of courtesy it's about common sense. I can understand if people want to criticise the man himself, his personality but I don't understand how he can be criticised for something he did not say. Surely it's the Daily Star that should get criticism for winding people up.

It is not difficult - Terry/Chelsea would have given permission for that provocative angle in the headline. They manage their PR carefully after all.
I think that is good enough reasoning to stick the headline on the door. I'm not after a conviction here. Maybe next time.

I can't stand Terry but if I'm going to criticise him it's going to be based on his actions, words or personality not a headline that he has nothing to do with.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, calm down, I was being facetious.

I thought I'd be on safe ground on Spurscommunity unfairly using John Terry as a whipping boy. OK, I'll treat the racist, scumfuck, shitbag with a bit more respect in future.

The article doesn't match the headline.

Either way even if we go with the headline it is true that Kane hasn't won anything yet.

There are many precedents of young players disappearing after 1 good season..we've seen our fair share.
