Aurier is vastly superior to Trippier. He may make the odd mistake, but they are far from constant like with Trippier.

For me, Eriksen and Sissoko MUST play.

And three-at-the-back (5 defenders) actually makes me nervous. We are not good at inviting pressure and defending deep.

Both crap imo

They're not crap, far from it. They've got their strengths and weaknesses but overall it's a position we have to look at.

Trippier offers a lot more going forward than Aurier, but the latter is a better all round defender when he's not in the extreme error prone mode.

Trippier's biggest weakness is not a lack of pace, its his positional defensive play, or lack of.

Constantly loses his man or the pass comes between him and the RCB and his position is off, or he's too slow to react and adjust.

Sensing danger and anticipation just seems to be a real struggle for him.

With the ball at his feet though, he's a very good player. Technically really sound and has a great eye for a pass, and of course his crossing is of the very highest quality most of the time.

Aurier is a robust competitor and although he has improved in the attacking sense he's still a way to go to convince me he has a good enough all round game to be a long term option, even to be rotated.

I wish Poch would use them in a more selective way, according to their strengths and the opposition, as opposed to just pure rotation.

Trippier against the lesser sides, Aurier in the tougher games mainly, I'd of thought.

Anyway it's a position I think we need to address but I think labelling both crap is ridiculously harsh.

Agree in general. But don't agree that Trippier is alway good on the ball. Trippier only thinks forward, when he has the time. If fullback/winger close him down, he does not have the dribbling ability to make that space & cross. This is why he is a failure against big teams.

Aurier on other hand does this well. Also he seems to have very good chemistry with Sissoko in terms of overlaps. Aurier lacks in quality on cross

But going forward in the summer, we need better RB than both.

I think son should play upfront but I also think he won't be as effective in that position. Seems mad to play our inform player out of position

Not sure if I’m correct, but Dortmund have conceded 3 goals in their last two games? And scored 3 in both too.
I don't want a 3-3 draw tomorrow, I would only settle for that if we are 3-2 down with a couple of minutes to go or it's already 3-3 and they get a penalty in injury time or thereabouts.....

Hope Poch whispers some sweet words in Sancho's ears after the match :p

Hope we go all out for Sancho at some point, potential super star.

And I’m sure we’ll be right at the front of the queue if he ever comes on the market.

Vastly superior is a bit far. Odd Mistake? he's shocking going forward and is a liability at the back in a different way to Trippier.

Have a sneaky feeling that Poch is gonna pull a sly one and bring back Harry for this one. He’s been doing ball work for well over a week now and as far as I can tell it was only a minor strain of the ligaments so the comeback from that would fit within this timescale.

In a way if he's not fit enough to start I'd rather he wasn't in the squad at all. If he's only fit enough for the bench and we are a goal down going in to the second half there will be a lot of pressure on Poch to rush him on, and Kane to get us out of the shit. I'd rather he was fully fit and ready to start against Burnley.

It's such a shame - if we lose Eriksen I think he could be an ideal player to replace him (not like for like, but imagine him and Son behind Kane) with, but I reckon there's a near zero per cent chance we could get him.

I'd start Llorente if he's fit enough. The Toby ball in the air, Llorente knock-down, Sonny shot & goal play has worked a couple of times and might be our best option.

I mean, he clearly isn’t “shocking” nor “a liability”, otherwise he’d be playing in League Two.

He’s a good player with some weaknesses to his game which mean in some scenarios he’s less effective than Trippier, whilst being more effective in others.

This casual labelling of players as “crap” or whatever using these ridiculous absolute terms is so lazy.
