Honestly don’t know who is my 1st choice pick now between Dier and winks and I think it is between them. Sissoko is almost undroppable. Dier does make me feel safer in a game like this but winks just moves the ball faster/better imo tough call.
Depending on the game. I’d have Dier start the Chelsea semi over winks.

Winks to start united though as Dier won’t be up to speed yet

Anyone else have a nervy feeling about this game? Just seems like Manure have had such a good break and are on good form (albeit against relatively poor teams but not the point)
I don't know if people really remember the first match, or just the scoreline. We were lucky to not be run off the pitch in the first half.

I have no doubt this will be a very difficult match, and everyone will have to be up for it for us to take all 3 points.

There's lots of times Eriksen drops back into midfield when we're looking to control and see games out.

Have a feeling Dier will come back in straight away for this one. No sign of Winks in those training pics either.
That's true and thats just my point, he joins the other two who are already there. I honestly think we would struggle if he was one of only two defensive midfielders playing, but I could be wrong

One of the few times I am in total agreement with you!

Lamela for Eriksen, who played like he did before Poch rested him in the Autumn - devoid of energy and guile.

He's our most creative player but up against a high energy midfield I think he will really suffer. Lamela is fresh, a much better presser and will give us more bite. I'd put him on Pogba.

I'd have Dier in there just purely for his legs. He's had a good rest and although he hasn't played much football in the last month or so I imagine he won't be too rusty as he didn't have a leg or foot injury. Although I'm not sure how difficult it is to return from an appendix operation.

He'll do a job on Pogba in beside Sissoko.

Jan straight back in as well. Sanchez is not strong enough to be up against Lukaku or sharp enough to be against Rashford in my opinion.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dier revert to his role where he drops into a back 3 and enables the WBs to get forward (hopefully KWP). I'd task Dele with doing a job on Pogba when they're in possession. Nice attacking options on the bench with Sonny, Lamela and Lucas.

didnt we drop Jan straight back into a big game after his last injury and it didnt work out so well for us? Maybe City or Lpool, cant remember.... Might be worth Sanchez for his pace vs Rashford anyways and give Jan an extra week off

Was it Arsenal? Alongside Foyth though rather than Toby.

Spurs injury news: Eric Dier (appendicitis) – has started to join in with some team training sessions but remains unavailable. Lucas Moura (knee) – being assessed ahead of Sunday’s match. Victor Wanyama (knee) – progressing now to late stages of rehabilitation.

Looks like both Dier and Verts unavailable, which is a blow. Sanchez to partner Toby in CD; Rose, Aurier as FBs; Sissoko, Winks, Dele, Eriksen, Son and Kane. Bench: Lamela, Moura (if fit), Skipp, Llorente, Davies, Trips.

Surely you mean it looks like Vertonghen is available and Dier isn't?

Yeah think that will be the team. Is that the same back four that started against Tranmere?

Aurier should be raring to go!

I'd be tempted to drop Alli in a deeper role instead of Winks so plays in a 3 with Sissoko and Eriksen then bring lamela in.
