When you're on a good run
a break can throw you off course.
and break the concentration
Sunburn, fatty foods
and other distractions
could ruin their focus.
Just saying.
I started reading this as though it was a poem.

Lloris
Alderweireld Sanchez Davies
Trippier Sissoko Winks Eriksen Rose
Son Kane

Gazzaniga Foyth Aurier Skipp Lamela Dele Llorente
If fit, Vertonghen in place of Davies, Davies drops into Foyth’s bench spot. Dembele in place of Skipp. Lucas in place of Llorente.

I actually think the more defensive performance against Chelsea was deliberate. Once we got a goal ahead, conserve the energy ahead of the United game. Think we'll be back to our usual aggressive selves. I'm just disappointed that I'm travelling so I won't see it.

Man Utd look dangerous. They have real quality throughout the side, defence aside - which I hope we can capitalise on.
I think we will have to be really careful to their pacey counterattacks. Lukaku, Lingaard and Rashford look rejuvenated whilst Pogba seems to have found his mojo.

How we recover from the League Cup game will be key - they will be fresher and more up for it as they are all trying to prove themselves to their new boss.

Will be tough. Hope we win - taking both my boys!

Sorry but I can't agree
It would have been far better to score a shed load and then not to have to worry about going to their place.
We just looked knackered

No sign of Danny Rose in today’s training shots though vertonghen and Dier there. No Dembele either maybe said his goodbyes.

No moura either.

Actually think Rose is there but bit blurry.

A game where Poch needs to get his subs right. I’d be tempted to start Lucas if he’s fit after his performance in the away game.

Not sure if Rose is there, might be in one which is blurry as you say.

Definitely no Moura, but interestinly no Winks either?

Were going to see if ole has cahunas or not in this game. Maybe he'll come out to fight in a 4-1-2-3 or some such approach, if it was me as manure i'd go 3-5-2 and hold the midfield, from looking at the chelsea game. Whoever gets the midfield control on this one will win i think. How do we counter that? no idea. but i'm guessing thats why they pay poch the big bucks to come up with the plan that works. Keeping pogba out of the game is a sound idea, so width , play down the flanks, and cross ball deep avoiding the pog seems an idea? Playing narrow, through the middle...not so sure thats a good idea. Its a good thing i know nothing about football really. Its what qualifies me to post rubbish. :D

Yes drop our captain for one of our biggest games of the season. No way. I know Hugo hasn’t been at his absolute best this season but he is our chosen leader and needs respect,
Respect and sentiments do not win matches, form does. No one should be un droppable. Although Lloris is my choice for this game, I would not criticise anyone who picks Gazzaniga.

Always pick the best fit for purpose and on form player for a match, even if egos are bruised along the way. No player is bigger than Tottenham Hotspur Football club where it really matters.

He did really well, but the context of the game was different, as we were struggling for possession.

I'd start with Eriksen there, and see if we can dominate control the game first, and then adapt if needs be.
With the greatest respect to Eriksen, he only plays well in a three man defence midfield when he has someone to do the tackling for him. I would not trust him in a two man defensive midfield on current form, no way

There's lots of times Eriksen drops back into midfield when we're looking to control and see games out.

Have a feeling Dier will come back in straight away for this one. No sign of Winks in those training pics either.

Anyone else have a nervy feeling about this game? Just seems like Manure have had such a good break and are on good form (albeit against relatively poor teams but not the point)

Not really. We'll know within five minutes what sort of performance we're going to get. Last year Eriksen scored from the kick off virtually, fast tempo from the off.

If we see that again I think we'll totally outscore them.

If we're sluggish and passive looking its going to be an uncomfortable game.

First five minutes and we'll know.

Lloris
Aurier Toby Sanchez Rose
Sissoko Winks
Lamela Dele Son
Kane

Gazzaniga, Vertonghen, Trippier, KWP, Skipp, Eriksen, Llorente

Eriksen for Lamela if he’s decided to bring his arm and leg back to London from Madrid. If he still has them there like be did yesterday, he’s dropped.
Oh dear! So you honestly believe that Eriksen didn't have a great game because he wants to to Madrid? Rather than Chelsea played well? He is tired? Had an off day?

These are the kind of comments that literally fuel the rumours and keep them in the news! Have you noticed the sheer volume of social media-driven 'stories' that are now offered as 'news' on sites like newsnow?

Honestly don’t know who is my 1st choice pick now between Dier and winks and I think it is between them. Sissoko is almost undroppable. Dier does make me feel safer in a game like this but winks just moves the ball faster/better imo tough call.

I would agree with you but you know what - the first 25 mins against Chelscum was totally different with what happened with the remaining 65 mins.

I think though it will be a cracker, they will come out which will give us space to do our thing i.e. release Son and let him wreak havoc
