I beg to disagree as I would put Lamela in his place in a heart beat, What if Eriksen was to get injured? Are you saying that we then would be doomed because we didnt have an alternative? Disagree all you want but I can see that part of our poor results in recent games is down to our weakened midfield playing an off form Eriksen

As others have said, I think Eriksen suffers without Dele. Our movement in the final third has been lacking and that restricts his options a bit. He seems to divide opinion on here (which I find a bit weird) but Dele should be one of the first names on the teamsheet for us when fit, not just for what he brings to the game himself but for the effect he has on Son, Eriksen and Kane - forcing the opposition to give them more space and us more attacking options. Eriksen's poor form has also coincided with a return (somewhat forced) to three at the back. Playing Kane-Son-Eriksen as an attacking threesome reduces his impact compared to a quartet of Kane-Son-Eriksen-Dele, in my onion.

Would actually now go for this. I think if Kane can come straight into the starting 11 upon return then Poch may not hesitate to put Dele straight in too. I will also be a lot more confident if I see Dele, Eriksen, Son and Kane all playing. So much better with all 4 of them on the pitch I feel.

if Dele plays, then I'd play Eriksen. those 2 have such a good understanding that even on an off day Eriksen still clicks with Dele.

last season Eriksen missed this fixture and it was 1 of our worst performances.

I agree Eriksen isn't at his best at the moment, but other than Winks, Sissoko, Toby and Jan not many are having the best of seasons, but we have still been getting results (with exception in the last 3 PL matches)

Although I see your point, the circumstances are slightly different, though. Kane returned from a knock on the ankle/shin, but Alli has been missing because of a muscle injury, which may require a more gentle introduction?

Yeah I'm not sure to be honest mate but I do know that Kane's injury was more than a knock, it was ankle ligament damage. Certainly possible that different injuries will require different methods of reintroduction though, I'm just not sure how they determine such.

I'd start Dele when he can have a really good warm up and only play him for 60 mins. Dier has to start if Winks is unfit as Wanyama looks way off the pace after so long out.

When we are in possession Dier can drop between the CBs and the FBs can push right up. If Dele not fit to start then I'd play Moura or Lamela in the same formation.
