I don’t know wtf Eriksen has done to warrant a starting place. It was the change of formation when Winks came off that changed the game against villa and he was totally anonymous yesterday, almost looked like he didn’t give a fuck. I could forgive that, obviously, if he wasn’t pissing about not signing a new contract but he is so he’d be on bench from now on, especially with Son back.

Think Winks is enough as DM and Nd as b2b. And play Lo Celso to unlock them, perfect match for his starting-11 debut.

Not sure a performance against the best team in the league, early in the season is always the most accurate barometer of ability.
Not sure there’s a point in having squad depth if players like Dier, Davies and Vertonghen don’t get a chance to earn a place in the side when their competition underperforms.

Getting a goal as early as possible will be key here. We all know that the longer ot stays 0-0 the more stubborn and resolute newcastle will be.
Id start all players will the biggest goal threat and forward thinking type pf game. No diamond.

Kwp--------Toby--------Jan---------Rose
------------Lo'celso----N'Dombele-------
----Lucas--------Eriksen--------Son------
----------------------Kane------------------------

Lets get a goal early and make them come out. Clean sheet and try to build a nice gd. If we can get a couple ahead look to bring on davies and dier to get them upto speed.

With Eriksen's future in the balance, important to establish how key he is so lo celso to start in his role a must and then can bring him on as a sub

I doubt Lo Celso will start, but this would be a good game for him to start in if Poch thinks he's fit enough. Which I doubt he will be considering he hasn't had much of a pre season. Aside from that I wouldn't drop Lamela, he wasn't amazing against City but he was better then Eriksen and he got a goal + assist.

Ether way I really do not want to see a midfield three of Winks, Sissoko and Ndombele any time soon, or ever.
