Lloris

Aurier Toby Vertonghen Rose

Dier Winks

Lamela Dele Son

Kane

Subs : Gazza, Sanchez, Davies, Sissoko, Eriksen, Lucas, Llorente

Harsh to drop Sissoko, but we will need Dier’s discipline and flexibility in this game and Winks’ ability to move the ball

Eriksen has royally pissed me off lately, so I’d play Lamela at least he will nobble someone and rule the whiny home fans up
Dier's disciple? You okay there mate?

Lloris;
Aurier, Toby, Jan, Davies;
Sissoko, Winks;
Moura, Alli, Son;
Kane.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Rose, Sanchez, Dier, Eriksen, Lamela, Llorente.

Counter-attacking: Our most solid defensive unit. Our best transitional midfield. Our most dynamic forwards. Good bench options in Rose, Eriksen, Dier and Lamela.

You just know Pochettino is going to fuck this up. What next? A fucking CM pentagon or a rhombus?

Moura played brilliantly in his first game but has been our least effective performer since and I would have him no where near a first team start but maybe a last 15 minutes sub because thats his limit for effectiveness.

I've literally got no idea.

Whoever can concentrate best should play. God knows who those players are though. They've all got more than enough in them to gift Liverpool a goal or two like normal.

Things might look very different in regards to fitness after the internationals.

That said, at the moment I don't see us putting out any team that'll be capable of getting anything from the game. We're guaranteed at least a couple of defensive mistakes, some shit decision making in the final third, and wastefulness in front of goal.

Hopefully we will have eleven fit players rather than the usual half-crocked and unfit players we have had over the last couple of months.

Would like to see us play in a similar way to the Dortmund game. Except we can't afford the odd mistake as Liverpool have better finishers who will punish us. Liverpool will come at us hard and so we need to be set up to take the sting out of them

We cant afford to lose, so we'll need an ultra defensive formation for this match.

...................... lloris..vorm..gazza.......................
trips..aurier..jan..toby..foyth..sanchez..davies
...................................rose...................................

Either that or replace rose with kane....he can play 4th keeper

Aurier.. Alderweireld... Vertonghen... Rose

.......Moura ............ Kane ........... Son ..........

Tight at the back, solid in the middle, pace up top to both counter and keep the Liverpool full backs pinned back.

Why the **** are we even discussing what team we should put out for a game in three weeks? Anyway you know half the squad are going to come back cropped from the internationals

Anybody know where I can put money on Trippier and Davies being the fullbacks for this game?
TBF rose has not been so great recently and I thought Davies had a good game Vs Dortmund.

Edit: Replied to the wrong post originally...changed it now!

Need to approach this exactly like we did Barcelona and Dortmund away. Crucial we quieten the crowd in the first 30 minutes and they will get as nervous as f*ck. city play first at Fulham. So Liverpool will likely be a point behind in 2nd. They simply can’t afford a draw. Just keep them at bay for 60 minutes and we will get chances in last 30 when they open up. 352 to start then bring Sonny on at 60 minutes when it opens up.

Lloris
Alderweireld sanchez Vertonghen
Aurier sissoko Dier Eriksen Rose
Kane Dele

Bench: gazza Davies winks lamela moura Son llorente

Put out the exact same team
(+ Dele) who did the job against Dortmund in the second leg.

If we are going to get anything from this game, we need an exact replica of that performance.
I like this thinking. 12 players might just give us the edge.
