Lloris

Trippier
Toby
Vertonghen
Davies

Eriksen
Wanyama
Sissoko
Rose

Alli

Son

Bit of a slap in the face for Moura? The guy just scored a hat-trick & had one of his best performances for us.

Would be a real kick in the teeth if such a performance sees you dropped for the next game.

Wouldnt start Wanyama regardless, in all honesty. He’s lost a ton of mobility. It’s sad but it’s true. Pep will attack here. He wouldnt be able to cope. Skipp would have a better chance.
Not for me. Skipp turns like an oil tanker and hesitates on the ball. City would tear him a new one imo. He's a prospect. You dont stick a prospect up against Man City in a CL qf. Not disagreeing regarding Wanyama. Not sure he's played enough to say what he's like at present.
Got to start Moura and Son., Eriksen, Sissoko, Toby, Verts, Rose and Lloris. Anyone else is up for debate imo.

Doesn’t sound like they are that positive Dele will be fit enough either.

I have to agree. I've now got myself back in exactly the same mental place I was in this time last week & am accepting that, most likely, we're gonna get our asses handed to us by a rampant City.

It worked a treat feeling like it last week, I've got exactly the same clothes ready for tomorrow that I wore last week too.

I've done my bit & you can all thank me if we go through tomorrow.

I imagine our attacking players are going to be doing a hell of a lot of chasing over the 90 (or 120) mins so we could do with having some fresh legs from the bench.

I think City will adopt a similar approach to their last two home games against Liverpool where they came flying out the traps. They tired in those games and Liverpool eventually picked them off in the Champions League and looked the better team in the second half of the PL game until Sane scored to give City the lead again.

Should the game pan out in similar fashion and we are still in the tie with half an hour to go I think we will need someone from the bench who can impact the game in an attacking sense.

I'd start with:
And match up man for man. We've got to have a counter attack threat in this game as I imagine City will have the majority of the ball, so play both Son and Moura on either flank to try and pin back their fullbacks and dare them to go forward. Alli can play through the middle and needs to stick to their midfield pivot when we don't have the ball.

We still have plenty of options, aslong as we have Eriksen playing passes for Moura and Son whilst playing a shape which limits there chances we have a great opportunity

Fair enough. (y)

I was speaking more from the players perspective. I'd imagine he's absolutely buzzing after the weekend, and feeling more confident than he has done for a very long time. So hopefully, if what you've described does actually unfold, I hope it doesn't have a negative affect on his confidence & mentality.

Must be bloody horrible to wait in the wings while Kane tears shit up, finally get an opportunity to prove yourself, do exactly that, then still get dropped afterwards.

Play deep and on the counter attack using the pace of Son and Lucas. Dele and Eriksen running themselves into the ground either side of Sissoko in a compact midfield. Was confident we would beat them in the first leg and am confident we can get through this. COYS!
I’d go...

Most neutrals are expecting City to go through to the SFs so if they don’t score by half time, their fans will put the pressure on them, which should be to our advantage.

If we play the right tactical game , we should be fine. Even if we are knocked out, there’s still lots to play for and we’d have less games than most of our other TOP for opponents to contend with.

Really like that set up... ?

Match them up, counter attacking threat with a powerful looking midfield/spine.

I had a feeling we’d turn them over last week. No idea how this week will go. I’d be much more confident with winks in the team.

Not too different to how we lined up in this game against them then (but with Son more central).

With the team news:

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Wanyama
Eriksen Sissoko
Lucas ______________________ Dele
Son

Gazzaniga Walker-Peters Sanchez Davies Skipp Lamela Llorente
Dele on the left as he’s diligent at protecting the full back and Rose will need it. Additionally, Walker is likely to play right back and Dele’s our most physical, niggly attacker which Walker hates. He’ll also have a tonne of space given how little tracking back any of their wingers does and is our most likely player to hit an angled through ball for a runner, which Son is our best example of.

This is gonna be a tough game. We need fighters out there. No time for powder-puffs. That said, we are thin on MF options. So 3 at the back might be our optimal option.

Lloris

Toby
Davinson
Jan

Tripps
Sissoko
Wanyama
Eriksen
Rose

Son
Moura

subs: Dele, Llorente, Lamela, Foyth, Davies, KWP

Was genuinely surprised when I heard some spurs fans would rather win on Saturday than go through tomorrow. What is point of qualifying if not want the Semi Final when you get the chance?
