Our injuries are getting ridiculous. Based on what we know I'd probably go for the following:-

5-3-1-1

Lloris

Tripps
Alderweireld
Sanchez
Vertonghen
Rose

Wanyama
Sissoko
Eriksen

Dele

Son

Keep it tight and hope Eriksen, Dele and Son can work something in transition, Sissoko with the odd bursting run too.

If Dele isn't ready then Moura comes in. Temptation is there to play a back 4 and bring in Moura but the back 3/5 has served us well in Europe before (Dortmund x 2 and Madrid).

I wouldn't play Sanchez in a game with VAR as he holds and pushes too much for my liking.

He's fucked next year then. Sell in the summer.

Have we got any other options than Sissoko and Wanyama in the middle? Gonna take a hell of an effort from whoever we can scrape together.

Moura has to play. Not just his pace on the break, but also you don't drop a player who's just scored a hat-trick (common sense permitting). He's quite streaky anyway so let's hope he continues it tomorrow.

It's a really tricky call from Poch. Do you risk going to City with a back 4 when you know they will overload the full backs? Is Wanyama even up to this? Can you play Dele, Eriksen, Son and Moura and still have enough defensively?

We need a potential game changer on the bench too, which is where I was going with Lucas.

We went with Sissoko as the anchor at Anfield and did ok, however I believe it was a formation change that really saw us take over.

You're right, it's such a fine line. I wouldn't be surprised if he went with Llorente and just looked to hit him and make it stick (although he often looks like he couldn't trap cement).

Think I'd go

Lloris
Trippier
Toby
Sanchez
Jan
Rose
Sissoko
Dele
Eriksen
Lucas
Son

Surely all teams will be selling defenders based on this then?
It goes on everywhere.

Llorente definitely gives an out ball and is another conundrum for Poch. He did go with Llorente in a 3-5-2 away at Madrid so he has looked at it before.

Sadly IIRC our MOTM that day was Harry Winks however

my worry with that line-up is that we'd get a repeat of the liverpool 1st half where our wing-backs ended up so deep that it was a flat back five and the two "outside" centre mids(dele and eriksen) had to cover so much ground constantly having to engage their full backs, then you're left with sissoko on his own in the middle and son/lucas up top not effecting anything.

The question is with City, would you rather give Walker and Delph/Zinchenko/Mendy space or risk Sterling and Sane terrorising our FBs? Liverpool's FBs are much better at crossing than City's and crossing is still a low % percentage option.
