I think Tripps in front of Serge/KWP is a definite option for some games.

Always liked Rose as a potential option on the left of a 3 more than a 4 (let's face it, his crossing is poo), but would be interested to see the above play out and how he'd interchange with Davies.

Winks and Foyth would be the two I'd stick in the middle of that set-up, ideally.

Posted the team I'd play for this game already.

I can see where he's coming from in stopping Zaha (their chief threat) and supplying Fernando to get some proper value out of him.

Kane naturally drops off more now anyway, so it'd likely end up more like 4411 with wingers and a big target man.

I wouldn't, personally, use it for this game, but can appreciate the thinking behind it.

I think we need another body to play close to kane in this. Sakho is the kind of defender kane can struggle against if isolated. We need somebody else in there to cause distraction and link up with.

Hopefully there is more to our game plan than putting 3 men on the right to deal with Zaha. I would go with an attacking line up so they are worrying more about our goal threat than we are about theirs.

Lamela is our most in form attacker, Sissoko at his best since he joined the club and Aurier is a better defender than Trippier is, who himself has resembled a league one player defensively speaking, in recent weeks.

The fact they can also help neutralise Palace’s main threat is a bonus. It’s not like they’d be in the side purely to look after Zaha.

I think Trippier is an outstanding wing back but an average full back. I don’t see Aurier as that great either, he was average against PSV . If we go with a flat back 4 I’d give the edge to Aurier but with 3 playing at CD there’s no contest imo.
