This is where the football world is actually fucking crazy. They paid £7 million for him last summer and now want nearly ten times that. I mean, if you think logically, that’s insane.
Frankfurt made Jovic permanent in April for around 6m. Not even 2 months later they sold him to Madrid for about 55m.

Things were so much easier back in the 60s and 70s when the only way you knew about a transfer was when you read we had signed someone on the back pages of the newspaper

The silence around this one over the past couple of days make me feel like we are close.
I wonder will levy be able to use his tactic of not allowing other teams being able to negotiate with Lyon after we agree a fee, to avoid another William situation.
Somehow I can’t see Aulas being up for that.

Nothing gets SC worked up quite like Lyall Thomas.

I personally think SC needs to get over it.

All journos get things wrong. They're all taking punts on a daily basis and working off agent fed info.

I just think people need to stop acting like he's deliberately trying to deceive them.

Now, I’m not saying this definitely won’t happen, but it’d be very unlike the SC I know!

Also, that performance from Jenas the other day was an absolute embarrassment

Well, it was all year around back then.

The short transfer window period allows for the creation of a 'silly season'

Rodri wants to leave Atletico. This should allow City to hopefully push this one through and take them out of the running.

It does seem that every other club has primary targets that don't include Ndombele, which is giving us hope.

Sky:
BREAKING: Manchester City target Rodri has told Atlético Madrid he wants to leave the club.

If Real want to chase Pogba all summer, this basically gives us a free run at Ndombele.

Yeah and if Ndombele truly wants a starting place at the next Euros, he’s only really guaranteed that with us now.

I think the big concerns now are if Madrid miss out on Pogba or if PSG get a huge wad of cash for Neymar. City getting Rodri sooner rather than later should help our cause. We already seem to be Ndombele's preferred choice over Utd and Juve.

If Madrid miss out on Pogba then I think they'll come back for Eriksen.

I still don't think Ndombele is on PSGs agenda, he may have been a quick enquiry which would explain why Aulas desperately tried to get them involved.

I'm getting impatient, I need us to sign this guy.

Please Levy ffs.

If we get him and GLC I'll be so excited for the new season.

I have to say that yet another reason to love Poch is how he has dealt with Levy. I would suggest that in the past Levy has refused to go beyond his own valuation of a player when trying to secure his manager's preferrred choice, a question of "sorry, we tried, but have to settle for plan B". Levy has often relied on plan Bs. But while publicly towing the party line to perfection "we have a completely different project, situation to the big clubs" etc, Poch has also had the balls to say "I totally understand Daniel that you couldn't get the player, but you have to understand that from a football perspective I am not interested in plan B's so would now rather we don't sign anyone". It's not a good look for the club to sign no players, and most managers wouldn't have the guts to go down that path, but it rather brilliantly turns the tables on the chairman. Plan B's just don't apply. This is purely my own conjecture of course, but I think Pochettino has put Levy in a situation where the pressure to sign his preferred choices is therefore massive (while the chances of doing just that are also greater than ever thanks to the club's growing prestige, for which they both take great credit). Bottom line, I think that for the first time Levy is likely to overpay for players, (as much as it pains him), and deals like Ndombele for 60 million could be very much on the cards.
