I really want this to happen, but that interview doesn't change my expectations that it very well might not. I suspect he would be willing to join, but doesn't mean we would be his ideal choice. He wouldn't have handled the question any differently if he wanted to or didn't particularly want to come to Spurs, more likely he simply wants to see who else comes in for him. He acknowledges that we are a big club, like others, and that he wants to join a big club. While not closing the door on us, he certainly didn't close it on anyone else either. It's not like he specifically named us, he was asked. He has a chairman who openly wants to sell him to PSG, doubtless an agent who will want him to go to a number of clubs ahead of us if the fee and wages are greater than we can or will offer, and he will just be waiting to see what offers arrive. We are a contender now for this calibre of talent and that is a big step forward, but we just have to accept there are still other clubs out there who can step in at the last minute and scupper a deal, as much as that sucks...

I refuse to watch any highlight YouTube videos for him (or anyone else we’ve been linked to), unless he signs for us. From what people are saying, he sounds perfect, I’ve just been burnt far too many times in the past!

I think what’s key here is whether or not Poch & Levy have held talks as yet.. these details have been sketchy at best. If we have money to spend, then we would probably take the extra step (more money) to do the deals needed if things had been agreed between them both. It is a bit of a chicken and the egg situation however.

If Poch is even considering leaving, why would we commit such a huge amount on a player that may not be favoured by another manager!? Poch himself said that the fans also need to know what the ambitions of the club are for the future, and as yet we’ve heard nothing new officially, and signed no one.

At the time I accepted that we lost to Liverpool pretty well but as time has ticked on, I’ve felt more and more depressed about it due to the fact that it was a golden opportunity missed. Now it’s time to move on, and we as fans are desperately in need of some positive news to do so.

I’m not sure that the hierarchy quite understand how much the supporters need a morale boost.
All that was last season, ages ago. This season is our season!

I'm afraid that the competition for this player looks too hot to me. If City come for him, I think we will be blown out of the water by what they will offer and this probably applies to a few others. Another concern will be the agent's demands. Again, we won't compete with others when the unreasonable demands start.
I get the feeling that this is Poch's number one target so have to hope that DL will go as far as he possibly can but I suspect we will be moving onto the next name in the list of defensive midfielders which no doubt exists.

You are aware that clubs leak info to the media that other clubs are interested, right?

I think people are worrying about what other teams can offer, I don't know if it is just me but I feel some teams are leaning away from the guns blazing mode! To many teams getting their fingers burnt, can't sell a player in them wages and this in turn creates a nightmare for FFP when you can not balance the books with player sales.

My feeling is, if City wanted him then they'd have just slapped 80 million down by now. Griezmann has a clause where from what I've heard, it's 200 mill now but in July it drops to 120 mill, maybe City are waiting for the same for Rodri.

Where would he fit at City? The bench is nice when you're earning a lot but he wants to play.

Of course there's every chance he will end elsewhere but this is a different Spurs and a very different football world than Chelsea/Willian era.

Have faith. Levy knows very well we need to consolidate the fact that we're 'ahead of schedule'. We will strengthen.

I understand why people keep saying this but if one of the big money teams was going to blow us out the water why haven't they already? What are they waiting for? You could say they are seeing if other deals materialise first, but then if they can't push those deals through what makes everyone so sure they will just swoop in and effortlessly guzump us?

Neymar now on the market, Pogba flirting more with Juve than Madrid. Have to say its a worry that if we don't wrap this up within a couple of weeks we will miss out. Need to grease up the agent big time.

Everyday without Ndombele signing for Spurs is a bad day.
Get used to it pal.

Ndombele is on holiday until early July
Lo Celso is at the Copa America until 7th July at the latest
Sessegnon is at the U21 Euros until 30th June at the latest

We won't make a signing for a few weeks at least.

Kind of puts a downer on the ITK from around a week ago, about the next 2 weeks revealing how the summer will unfold?

I think people took that too literally as in we're going to have players signed within the 14 days, I took it as we will see the traditional news cycle which comes before a transfer accelerate over the 2 weeks which tbf has happened on both Lo Celso and N'Dombele, I think the transfers are in the right trajectory, we need a little patience.

Oh absolutely mate, and patience is what I've always applied to our dealings. As you said, people have taken the 2 week thing literally & that's kind of what I was getting at. I can see wrists being slashed because of the players we're linked to being otherwise engaged for a fair while yet.
