Poor EPL side:

Bournemouth paid £21m for Solanke who had a grand total of 1 professional goal to his name.

Top 10 side:

Everton paid £45m for Sigurdsson... a decent player but not a top 6 player.

Top 6 side:

Spurs - being asked to pay circa £60-80m for N’Dombele and Lo Celso, 2 players whom are both being pursued by Europe’s elite clubs.

Top 6 team in Europe.

PSG paid £135m for M’bappe Lottin and £222m for Neymar, 2 world class players.

Therefore us paying £60-80m when taking into account the above pecking order isn’t unreasonable. Yes it’s still an eye watering amount of money but it’s the going rate for quality players. Should they go on to become world class then they will be completely out of our price range.
Bournemouth aren't really a poor EPL side though are they?

I don't think you can class any EPL side as "poor", tbf!
I think he means quality as opposed to money wise. Either way, Bournemouth have an average finish of 13th over their first 4 seasons in the top flight. Wouldn't call that poor.

It feels right now we have a perfect combination between money available (record turnover, tv money still increasing, tickets income going up, no spending in the last 2 windows) and attractiveness (CL runners up, top4 four years in a row, new gorgeous stadium and facilities, best manager in the world, young talented players...) so let's not be surprised we're in the mix for this kind of exciting deals, and let's PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER while we're still in the lead position.

Fyi I have a lot of mates from Lyon and right now they're all resigned to lose him and a few have admitted lately watching 10min youtube compilations of him while cry wanking... True story

Funny thing is we only need those two and an Aaron Wan Bissaka to close a lot of holes in the squad. If it takes £200 million to push on from where we are now, and take us into the realm of actually being title winners, that would be money well spent.

This isn’t taking into account the outgoings, which could be as high as £90+ million for Eriksen and Toby alone. Leaving us with a net spend of just over £100 million but leaving the club in a much better position to push on. Add in one or two youngsters for the future and that’s a very very decent window and net spend.

We made a little more than that on Saturday night alone. I know it’s not always as simple as that, but to us fans it has to be.

Give Poch what he wants, and watch how the team transitions into the elite bracket. With what he’s done so far, that’s 100% possible.

I’d like this to happen but won’t be too downhearted if it doesn’t. Plenty of good midfielders around that would massively improve us.

Can you just clarify that it's them doing the cry wanking?

Cos if it's him doing it, I'm not sure that's the kind of player we should be attracting

Has anyone seen a huge amount of Ndombele? His videos really do nothing for me. Dembele looked twice the player? Just can’t take any risk if we are to spend £70 million quid. If we get it wrong, levy will never spend it again

Dont know much about him but I cant see us bidding for a player we have no chance of getting.

Younger players, even elite ones, want to play. As much as Madrid, PSG etc are huge draws that pay huge wages, players realise that it can stagnate their careers. The fact is that we are a very, very attractive club. Established in the cl, some very big recent results, amazing stadium and facilities, great manager and exciting young players.

As long as levy is willing to spend, and i genuinely believe that he is, we will see some very exciting players coming in during this window. And for once, early in the window.

Frankly, you're asking the wrong people. Big clubs around Europe want him, he plays for the best national set up, Poch wants him. Hes clearly good, very good. And a YouTube video won't change that.

Every signing, ever in history is a risk. From the 30mil one season wonder to the possibly past it proven winner. From the free agent with baggage to the world record wonderkid. Any signing is a risk.

True but how Levy simply needs to see it is that £70m wouldn't exist if we hadn't got that last minute goal vs PSV at Wembley. If that doesn't go in, we don't amass the kind of money we did this season.

I say give Poch a shiny new toy, show him he backs him to the hills and if it screws up it's no longer on Levy

Without doubt. I think poch should get the 100 million we got for this champs league, plus what we didn’t spend last summer, plus sales. That would make a great number which we can then make great changes. The club shouldn’t keep champs league money as you can’t forecast for it

I guess we look for different things. I've been very impressed with the videos I've seen (comps and full game highlights).

I think he's the perfect Poch midfielder. Confident in receiving the ball under pressure, good at wriggling free and finding incisive passes (probably the most impressive trait for me), all in a poweful athletic frame. All rounder. I can see why he's our top target.
