Work with a French guy who is a Lyon supporter. His opinion is we are sniffing around but doesn't see him moving to us. Went onto mention N'Dombele has a few big fish interested in him however the player is happy sitting tight for now and waiting for those clubs to line up there ducks before making a move. Only a combo of his opinion/snippets his heard so not putting much weight to it but not surprising.

Think's he has the potential to go on and be great but his main gripe was he can be a bit frustrating when it comes to consistency but suppose he is still only 22.

Liverpool have plenty of defensive midfielder types - I would have thought that if they went for a midfielder it is more likely to be a creative and attacking player
Ndombele isn't a DM...

Be stunned if United aren't one of the other English Clubs.
If they sign Ndombele that would mean they'd sold Pogba to Madrid, which in turn would almost certainly mean Madrid wouldn't sign Eriksen.

I'm not crazy in thinking that, since Lyon want 70-80M, Levy will offer 30-40M and never actually be close, right? That's just the way I see this going, unfortunately.

I imagine it's City and United seeing as it came out the other day that City had a bid that got rejected

It's been reported in France we had offered and roughly agreed a fee in the range of 40m last year before Aulas changed his mind and decided he was not going to sell him and wait for more money this summer. I don't think it's too insane to think we would be willing to pay more this summer if he's still a top target for us. The real deciding factor for me is if we can sufficiently convince him to join us over other big clubs like ManU or PSG such that Aulas doesn't have as much power to demand 80+ million.

The overall package will just keep increasing and we’ll eventually lose out but I guess we have to try.

Yes, this was also corroborated by JJ.

I think we're willing to pay the money. If he doesn't join us it's either because we get smashed out the park on wages or he wants to stay in France and win the league each year with PSG.

This is it. £60-70m on the fee itself, then add on a signing on fee and factor in wages for the player. Obviously the agent is expecting a wheelbarrow of cash his way to help grease the wheels. Suddenly the whole deal starts looking too expensive from ENIC's point of view, who when it's all said and done are exactly what it says on the tin....... and investment company who will be on the lookout for value.
Hence why this is never a go'er for me and we will be switching to the 2nd/3rd options on our list who are gettable and provide value for money.

Is his name Le Parisien?

A lot players are now costing close to 1/10th of our entire stadium build, I never once believed that the transfer fee bubble would burst but when Zaha last year was getting close to a 100M deal I was thinking this guy is not worth 1/10th of our stadium. ENIC should rightly so be questioning transfer fees. Looking at the Bale wages and the issues Madrid are facing it's looks like the wage bubble has peaked. Once modern stadiums beging to cost less than players I don't think transfer fees will be far behind wages, be interesting to see if any world record fees are paid this year.

I think at some point the transfer bubble "bursts" when players begin to take some of the power back into their hands. Simply sign shorter deals.

Not sure that will happen, especially with a short career and the risk of injuries

Like Alderweirelds release clause, Eriksen running down his contract, Rabiot, Alexis Sanchez, etc. I definitely think it’s becoming more prevalent. If I was Mbappe I would not be signing an extension with PSG if I had even the slightest idea about leaving in the future.
