Btw, regarding PSG.. I'm sure it will work out great when you have a 20 year old asking for certain signings as a part of his contract negotiations.

I'm pretty sure there were reports last summer that by the end of the 17/18 season Neymar was picking the PSG teams; Emery wasn't really involved in anything at that stage, not even the training sessions they were going to do

Disappointing you do not recognise the greatness we possess and consider as one of the best teams in Europe.

I think we're up there now in terms of big European clubs; I mean, we earn A LOT more revenue than Juventus for crying out loud.

We just need to get a few 'high profile' signings over the line to prove it to (mostly) opposition fans who still don't see us that way.

Let's be realistic. If the best teams in Europe were seriously after him we'd have no chance of signing him.

In two weeks time, we will be THE best team in Europe...

The major plus we have compared to Juve and PSG is that we can all but gurantee a starting place - I'm not sure either of those clubs can do that with the players they already have:

Juve - Pjanic, Matuidi, Can, Khedira, Ramsey, Betancur - why are they even in for him? This has just annoyed me tbh.
PSG - Paredes, Veratti, Nkunku, Diarra, Rabiot(?) - Certainly more chance here but Paredes & Veratti are their 1st choice CMs.
Spurs - Winks, Sissoko, Dier, Wanyama(?), Skipp - I mean, it's a non-contest really.

Granted we have Winks and Sissoko but signing a player of N'Dombele's caliber would kick our CM up a notch and considering he'd be our record signing, he'd have to start. Wanyama is potentially going to leave so IMO we need at least another CDM as well.

I think what’s worries their chairman is that Levy now has an addition to his formidable negotiation skills in that he can decide not to buy anyone. He will walk away if the deal isn’t right as that will be and added co cern for their chairman.

PSG can definitely offer playing time in midfield. Veratti is really the only nailed on starter there.

Of that PSG list Veratti is the only one Tuchel has fully trusted all season. When he's been out Tuchel has chosen to play Alves or Marquinhos there as often as anyone else mentioned. Nkunku was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in January if PSG were able to get Weigl. Midfield is not PSG's main need (really they need to upgrade their CBs) but it's not much deeper than ours.

How many times does it need to be said by ex players that they don't see competition for places as a problem, they back themselves to play anywhere.

Yep. There are countless examples of players going to huge clubs stacked full of top players over other clubs who could offer more playing time. They sometimes end up sitting on the bench for the length of their contract but it never deters them or others from doing the same.

I always back this point myself and imagine Ndombele would be confident of being a regular at us, PSG or Juve. However at the same time I do think players are a bit more cautious if their inclusion in an international tournament could be on the line. In the case of Ndombele the increased stability of Poch could be a factor, as Juve are changing manager and no one knows who's really in charge at PSG! (Even Mbappe is trying to dictate transfer dealings according to French press)

Not sure I agree with this. I appreciate the sentiment and it's an admirable quality for any player to have but the reality for N'Dombele is that if he looks at Spurs & PSG then he should recognise he has a far easier route to starting every week than he would at Juve. It should absolutely factor into his decision making if he has to pick between the 3 clubs.

Equally there have been so many examples of players moving to clubs only to find themselvs stuck on the bench and then moving again in search of "regular first team football", so I'm not sure it should be dismissed quite so easily.
