Hopefully this hasn't been posted elsewhere but I think I'm right in thinking that should Chelsea win the F.A cup then they play us in the Community Shield? Should put some of the trophyless comments to bed if it all went to plan.

Lol well I think it's about as meaningless as the league cup in some people's eyes but as we keep on hearing, silverware is silverware. It would represent a start wouldn't it. Breed the winning mentality as it's a final and all that. Especially as it's Wembley.

I don't give a damn about it but it's still a trophy, the best thing to do would be to win it and on Monday be indifferent to the trophy and just be happy that we won at Wembley against the chavs

It's a lot more meaningless than the league cup. It's viewed as a glorified ore season friendly genuinely. A bit like when we won the peace cup!

While the comments above are all fair enough I can't help but think winning a trophy in the first game of the season at Wembley would give the team a big psychological boost.

Trouble is, if we get in it and lose it they'll be banging on about our record at Wembley instead!

Hey, don't diss the Peace Cup. One of my greatest moments as a Spurs fan.

If you read the Community Shield small print
I think you will find that Chelsea
have the option of fielding two teams
and playing with themselves as it were.

Statistically, I believe the Winner of the Charity/Community Shield usually wins the league, historically.
