We need to remain patient? I think patience us one thing that Spurs fans have in abundance, what we don't have us trophies and the facts speak for themselves, spend big = win things.

Now that Kane could be out for a while, we only have Janssen as a recognized striker and he has no real Prem experience. Collymore may well be right after all!

I know this has been mentioned a million times before but spend big = win things? mate it doesn't always happen, ask those sorry Leeds fans what spending big did to them because they got themselves close to winning.

not sure if you supported us when we had Scholar at the helm, he never really spent big, but we hit a very rocky road and came close to going down the Leeds route.

to spend big on 1 player would cause so much disharmony, the main XI that got us CL football last season would want their wages brought very close to that super star, so the 80m with a 4yr contract on £200 k a week would suddenly cost us around 3-4m extra a month, not taking into account we have 4k less supporters for all home games at the moment.

if you want a team to buy success, then I'm afraid your following the wrong team, because until the stadium is paid for, and the next mega oil baron comes along we are going to try and win things without risking the clubs finances

I actually quite like Collymore as a pundit, I don't really like the idea of bringing up his past, we've all made mistakes in our time, unfortunately for him, his were in the public eye, but he seems to be dealing with his issues by his own admission, something needs to be admired about that.

Him aside, his opinions and ideas on football - I quite like his honesty with things, he's been there, he's done it, he's failed... it's certainly a different perspective from the run of the mill Neville and Scholes, who have only ever tasted success.

I get his point - Kane isn't exactly lighting up the world at the moment, Jansen isn't 'proven', we look very strong in our football, but our ability to put the ball away causes us untold amounts of pressure..

He's a prick who says things to get a reaction, for money. That's it. And finally he's being found out

If you work for Talksport or a red top (or God forbid both, as he once did), you're in the controversy business and hand in your respect at the door

This latest thing is probably the most ridiculous thing he's ever said, mind. Yes a club building a new stadium should spend £90m on a sub.

Very good, Stan. Time for your anger management pills...

I've supported Spurs since 1980 and we have had some great glamour signings over the years. I don't think for one minute that Levy would break our spending and wages policy. Yes we are a well run club, but the facts speak for themselves that if you don't put your hand in your pocket, you aren't going to be successful. A big name striker it goal scoring CM would have done wonders for us this season. Now that Kane is injured we really need Janssen to step up. I just think that Collymore has a point.

so your old enough to know that money doesn't always guarantee success Leeds, Liverpool and many other seasons teams have spent and come away with 0.

for us to of gone out and bought Higuain as Cavani hasn't really hit the heights the last couple of seasons would of cost us 80+m and would of effected our wage structure, so who do we buy that was available that is quality? Leicester won the league last season they were successful without having to spend mega money.

until the stadium is paid off our wages will never be full on

the only way money buys success is Man C and Chelsea, and that's not even guaranteed success. Arscum never went OTT when they were successful, Man U could do it mainly because the size of their stadium and worldwide following.

Collymore has a point? Really? Not even Real Madrid spend £80m on a back up striker.

The guy is chatting absolute breeze

It doesn't matter what he does for Holland, it is about what he does in a Spurs shirt is what matters for us. So far he has played a bit part role, his performances haven't been anything of note and he hasn't scored for us. There has been nothing so far to warrant such comments, to warrant such faith. It's far too early to make a judgement either way.

His performances haven't been anything of note? That's a very bold and quite frankly ridiculous statement.

I'll happily list what he has shown (in barely a month with us):

1. The game he started against Palace he was excellent, he completely bullied two strong PL defenders in Delaney and Dann, Dann was down injured twice and Delaney needed to be replaced was a constant thorn in their side.
2. He's already shown he loves the intensity hard working side of the game which most strikers don't like.
3. He's already shown he is extremely strong and far better than Kane at holding the ball up and laying it off.
4. He has already shown a very positive attitude and didn't shy away from that penalty yesterday, he literally ran to the ball to have his chance to score.
5. He is a team player and will get more assists than Kane, especially when our AM players get use to his back to the goal play.
6. He is regulalry scoring for his national team (which can't be ignored).

All of this at the tender age of 22 and his first season with us. You must really be a glass half empty guy if you can't be impressed with what our 'back up striker' and what he brings to our team. It's bizarre, for 18m i honestly think you would be extremely hard pressed to find someone comparable to him, but of course as you say he has done nothing of note and i've probably just made up the above observations......
