Like an Egland U21's crowd
It did fill up more than that though not alot but it did, a lot of people were still downstairs and people were drifting in after the game started. What I didn't understand was why there was anybody in the top tier, clearly most of it was withheld so I don't know why they sold any tickets up there at all, I'd have thought it better to keep people together not spread them out.

once upon a time Harry Kane used to run solid for 90 minutes and he'd run himself to the ground.

With the amount of games he plays he has learnt to conserve his energy now. He's playing differently and has talked about how he was advised to do it by ex pro's.

Now the whole team are doing it. They will get better at it as they are still learning how to do it correctly but it is the right thing to do with our schedule.

I expect over time we'll learn to close these games out better so that we don't look like conceding a goal every 5 minutes. But if you support the team you should support their development. They were right to drop off in intensity last night.

There's no way they'll start like that against Leicester, have some faith.
I agree. And regarding Kane, Ronaldo is the epitome of a player who reserves energy so that he can use it solely for attacking moments.

If the players went full pelt then I imagine we will really struggle the last ten games or so. Remember last season, the last few games the players were having to dig really deep to get over the line. That may not be enough this year, we need to be ready for that run-in.

A draw? No way dude, that's way too defeatist. Leicester are no longer a good team. Gotta go for wins in this league...

Just because of the odd Spursey game that crops up such as the one against the Arse, for me, this is no evidence we are not a good and genuine top 3 team. I agree totally that for any team that is not one of our 5 rivals, whether home or away, we must always be thinking and playing for a win. Yes, we have perhaps not won as easily as City and Liverpool have, but we have won. For me we have been improving from a lousy start when we threw away points to a steady, and at times, a bloody good top 4 team. I remain more than hopeful we will continue through the season as favourites to win against non top 6 sides.

We didn't defend that well as they hit the woodwork twice another day that's 2 goals conceded and lloris was MOM so I can't see the argument we saw the game out successfully or to plan sounded like a bit of luck was had.
We did same against wolves 3-0 then did our best to make a game of it lost the lead against arsenal and Watford, I would say the defending from the team perspective or tactics needs looking at but yes we won and 3 points was had.
Agreed - but aren't we basically sacrificing "our best XI" - who by the way aren't exactly guaranteed to win the match - for squad rotation, avoiding burnout (that we've had in past end of season run ins) and a chance to give our youth prospects a chance to gain big pressure experience.

This is was Pochettino has always said - we have to allow these young players to play, make mistakes and learn from them and the experience. Last season whilst Davinson Sanchez was brilliant, he made mistakes due to his naivety to the league - but we allowed this.

We're missing and have missed a number of important defensive players. I think we've done ok given this.

Don't get me wrong I understand the need to give young players game time otherwise how do they gain it? But because of our financial situation compared to the others( we are the poorer relation) it can mean mistakes are more likely to cost us especially in big games that can sometimes make the difference as a lot of the results against other teams are like for like.
As for Sanchez I thought he did quite well last season can't remember too many mistakes as he seemed to settle quite quickly imo.

It really wasn't like that I don't think, we won the game easily, at a canter, they did hit the post and one of those was when Lloris touched it onto the post but then again we hit the post too and I wouldn't say we saw the game out, that implies that we worked at it when we didn't we just cruised. During the game I just felt all the time that if we wanted six goals we could have got them and if they had pulled a goal or even two back earlier we could have just stepped up and got a couple more.
In truth people sometimes say as proof of how good Man City are, that they can win without trying, well last night that's what we did, we were good enough to do that. I'm not being over optimistic or wearing Spurs coloured glasses, I've often thought we have to work hard to win but last night was the first time I accepted that we don't.
All of that said I don't want to rubbish Southampton who kept on working right until the end but they just weren't good enough, that said if the new manager is worth his salt he'll bring some firmness to the defence and start from there, if he does he's got good players to bring about a turnaround in fortune.

I don't think all the issues with goals conceded are just defence related I think the midfield also is not as effective as it once was that maybe an issue of change of personnel to remedy that.

I know what he means, in light of our game against Barca where we'recommend gonna be putting all our energy and focus on, a draw at Leicester wouldn't be the end of the world.

Not sure I agree with you there mate, and I normally do, but I think it would be dropped points against a side we really should be dispatching.

Leicester arn't all that anymore and it's looking like it's two from ourselves, Chelsea and the Goons for the top four so its a game we really need to be winning.

Arsenal beat Huddersfield and we slip up and they're back above us.

We need the win really.

Alli Eriksen Kane Son Moura we've got superb weapons of our own.
They aren't really midfielders, and especially not a defensive one in the case of Eriksen. The problem in the NLD was the lack of midfield defence.

Arsenal IMO bypassed the midfield by hitting the ball down the flanks turning our back line...anyway not taking anything away from Arsenal they deserved the win.

Our midfield is more than a match of for Leicester , Dier Sissoko or Winks with Eriksen or Alli dropping in the hole is good enough.
