The problem I have with this crap interpretation is that they've effectively made it easier to aim shots at the oppositions arms and get a penalty, than to shoot at the actual goal....... And that can't be right?

I watched at the Lane...when it went in people were just sitting there in stunned silence with a "FFS" look on their faces...we rode our luck , particularly in the group..it ran out big time..

Big game referee would not do that, at least not for an incident not as clear cut as this.
People can say all they want that we chin up and move forward, it's a penalty. If it's an obvious handball or lunge from the back tackle yes, give it, I suck my toes.
This was so ambiguous the ref could have reservation to call it and perhaps apply a more stricter call if another penalty incident comes.
It was that fucking early in the game!! He really killed the match ffs.

Crazy that that simple, raised arm from Moussa pointing out instructions to Trippier within seconds of kick off had so many ramifications. Really destroyed the whole game as a spectacle for billions of neutral viewers worldwide, apart from fans of Spurs and Liverpool.
Liverpool sat back and waited to see what we had in response when they sat back. We didn't have much, and the game went into a really slow toilet flush.

If you go 1-0 down with 89 minutes left and you can't come up with at least one solid chance before Liverpool get a second on 87' you deserve to lose. It's not the ref's job to ensure an even contest or an entertaining game for the watching millions.
If Liverpool don't get the penalty, they don't sit back and concede possession the way they did. They're more aggressive, push their full-backs forward more and it's a different game. And not necessarily a game we win.

Had it been the other way round and they went one nil down after a couple of minutes, we'd have seen a far more open game.
Sure, we'd have been a threat on the counter, but we'd have been under some intense and sustained pressure throughout the game. Something that we couldn't show.
It really was a comfortable win for them because we didn't have much threat to their defence. It was painful to see, but glaringly obvious.
Hopefully, we'll get some reinforcements in the summer transfer window.

I finally remembered how I got home now!
I also remember that this club is amazing and we should be grateful for getting to a final of the CL, never thought it would happen for a LONG time. Next year is our year - I can feel it

Can we do a carbon copy of Liverpool? With the right investment this summer, we could return to the CL final and fight for the top 4. There is some deadwood in our team, with new life and depth we can get to that level easily. COYS

I see no reason why not myself. I think top 4 is the bare minimum now but really we should be looking to make the top 2 a top 3. I think out of us, Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd we're in the best place to join City and Liverpool. We did finish above Liverpool last season, we have also improved in each season of the Champions League but dropped off a bit in the League. We're that close now to getting the balance right between the League and cups. I honestly believe that getting several fresh faces for Poch to working with and keeping the core of the team together will be enough to get there. Champions League final will be tough to get too again but it's not impossible, we should also be capable of a domestic cup and title push.
