Never a pen. Never a pen
Fast forward to your 87th birthday, rocking back backwards and forwards ranting "never a pen, never a pen" whilst you ignore the fact that your best bits are getting a rub down from some good looking nurse with a pair of rubber gloves and a sponge.

I was really disappointed in Dele. He was so wasteful and when we needed a calm touch he elected for the elaborate. I love him as a player and he’s so young yet, but this was the type of match that highlighted that he still has plenty of work to do before really steps into a higher tier of talent/player.

He isn’t good enough.

Players let the club down, they were scared and Eriksen and Alli didn’t turn up. Wholesale changes needed and wouldn’t be surprised to see Poch walk now, can’t compete when it matters because he can’t buy the players with the balls to play

Oh so shut up

Difficult to be hyper critical but it was such a disappointing performance. The players will be beating themselves up badly. The most important game in the clubs history and the team simply didn't play well at all.
I'm still so very proud to be a Spurs supporter.

Is Poch not partly responsible?

Always wanting a small squad ? Only wanting his first choices ?

People are missing the point about the penalty Sissiko's arm wasn't in an unnatural position it was outstretched giving instructions, he didn't move towards the ball and it didn't hit his arm accidentally and Sadio Mane didn't try to cross the ball he took deliberate aim at Sissoko's arm knowing that if he hit it he'd get a penalty irrespective of anything else because that is the law now and that is exactly what people said would happen and make no mistake it will become a feature of the game and in a few years they will start to question the rule.

It’s not like being wise in hindsight. Playing Kane was a risk worth taking. It backfired a bit, but that doesn’t mean it was the wrong thing to do, because it wasn’t. It was the right thng to do.

He was match fit no doubt, because he improved as the game went on. But he wasn’t match sharp, and that’s something you can’t know in advance.

That means you can’t blame anyone, but it didn’t work.
Unfortunately this applied to every front four. We had almost no shot on target until what, 70+,80+min? Not like Kane was the only one upfront who had no shot on target.

Tactically is disappointing. Poch should have gotten Kane dropping deeper more to draw the defenders off some space for Son and Dele to run into.

Klopp said they did not bothered whether Kane starts or not. Obviously they did. Their two CBs were marking them the entire 90 minutes. And Kane/Poch rather got handicapped by that and not doing anything.

Haven't been good enough today. Our form hasn't been great and it looks like nothing has changed. Should of kept Winks on, we just have and puffed all game.
I can only think Winks was knackered. He was one of the better players in my opinion.

Yeah, no. That’s a shit take after a tough match at the end of a season for him that was disrupted by injury. I want to be clear I’m not saying that at all, and if that’s your opinion, that’s on you. Just don’t want people thinking I’m lumped in on that assumption.

Im proud of the boys but Ive reached the stage where accepting being 2nd best is too disappointing. Throwing away matches by mistakes rather than the other team beating us is so frustrating and happens every time we are in a huge game.

What a campaign but this one hurts a lot as they were there for the taking.

@Barmy_in_Palmy @dontcallme @nailsy can you tell me Kane deserved to start, or that he’s fit or that he deserved to start over Lucas?

Completely different point though isn't it?

Your pot stated "So I’m just going to say it, Kane is full of shit, he’s not fit he’s a greed prick who thought he could muscle in on the final despite not earning his place. "

If people feel Lucas should have started over Kane then fair enough.

But to attack Kane calling him full of shit, based on what exactly?, is so fucking pathetic. I am embarassed you are the same species let alone a fan of the same club.

He hasn't muscled in on anything. He is our top scorer and after an injury worked hard to get back to fitness for huge game. Why that is worthy of disrespect I have no idea.

Without reading this thread this performance has been played many times this season. For whatever reason the attack has been blunt all season and the team has done well to get as many good results as they have.

Juventus been waiting 3 weeks to announce a manager. Makes me think they're waiting for Poch. Worried for this summer, just don't think Levy is interested in winning. It's business.
