Had my usual pre-match vision. Spurs are winning 2 - 0, Liverpool get an early red card, Tripps scores a free kick and Toby scores in the last 10 mins. You’re welcome.

I’m full of nerves and anxiety. I just want us to win this so so much. For once can things go in our favour.

This is a chance for these players to go down in history.

I suppose what will be will be. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be.

Pre-internet times waiting for a final it was like easy-listening music. Now it's unbearable tension because of the tonnes of information, opinions, predictions etc.

I’ve been trying to avoid media, especially from the Liverpool side about Saturday but I must have heard 3 or 4 of their players say the same thing. That their experience of last season’s final gives them a leg up over us so they should win. It’s like it’s been drummed into them to think that. Seems a strange way to mentally prepare them to me.

We might not have been in the final before, but most of our players have played in huge games before:

Hugo - World Cup Final
Danny - World cup semi final
Trips - World cup semi final
Toby - World cup semi final & previous champions league final
Jan - world cup semi final
Moussa - The final of the Euros in 2016.
Dele - World cup semi final
Son - Asian games winner.
Harry - It's Harry.

Being in last years final might be a slight advantage, but it's not like out players are going to just freeze because it's a big occasion.

Everyone says that and they are a better team when saying why they will win. However, now that everyone is fit, i’d say our first XI is comparable to theres besides for RB. Plus we have good options off the bench

I genuinely feel sick with nerves. Living in Merseyside doesn't help. Pretty much all my mates support Liverpool, my wife and all her family support Liverpool. They're the worst possible team we could face for me personally.

All I'll say is that everyone is writing us off. We have nothing to lose. All I want us to do is play to our potential. If we do that then who knows what can happen. We're not far off the quality of Liverpool in terms of our first 11. In fact it's only really in the full-back positions they're noticeably superior.

But please God, no penalties. I don't think I could cope.

Just think, in the space of 11months Hugo could lift both the Word Cup & Champions league as captain :wideyed:
And in a few days Kane could lift the Champions League as vice captain and first ever Nations League as captain!

On a serious note, I'm going to be looking for us to press liverpool wing-backs back. I think whoever wins that battle will win the game barring a moment of brilliance.

The heat will be a real factor. Klopp's teams often struggle to press as much in finals because the adrenaline saps a bit of energy from the legs, and the heat will only make this worse. If we can get to 30 mins unscathed I think we will only get stronger and stronger.

Game against Liverpool at Anfield is a great example. They tore us to shreds in parts of the first half, but as long as we were still in it second half we were always going to come back stronger.

Let's hope Sissoko tucks it away this time!
