Match - English Premier League - Match day 2

When - Saturday, August 18th, 2018

Where - Wembley Stadium

Kick off - 1500 hrs

Referee - Anthony Taylor

Form (All competitions) : Spurs WDWLW Fulham WDLDL

We (Spurs) have won eight of our last nine EPL meetings with Fulham, losing only in a home match in March 2013 (0-1). Fulham have scored just 5 goals in their last 11 top-flight meetings with us (W1 D2 L8), and never more than once in a match in that run.

This will be Fulham's 3rd game at Wembley Stadium. They lost the 1975 FA Cup final against West Ham, before beating Aston Villa in the Championship play off final in 2018. We have lost just 2 of our last 38 home league games (W30, D6, L2), vs Chelsea and Man City last season.

We got off to a winning start against Newcastle but haven't won our 1st two games to an ELP campaign since 2014-15. Fulham have conceded in each of their last 18 EPL away games, the longest current run without a clean sheet away in the top-flight (among the 20 teams in 2018 - 2019). We are on a run of 18 consecutive home EPL victories against newly promoted opponents, conceding just once in our last nine matches of this kind and just 7 in total across those 18 games.

This will be Fulham's 1000th match in the English top-flight - the 36th different team to reach that many games. The last side to reach the milestone were Norwich in January 2016, with a 0-3 defeat at Bournemouth.

Kane has never scored an EPL goal in August, despite playing 14 games, 988 minutes and attempting 46 shots. By contrast, he's scored nine goals from 41 shots and 820 minutes in EPL in September. After a run that saw him score 17 goals in 16 EPL London derby matches between January 2015 and November 2016, Kane has netted just 5 goals in his 13 such fixtures

No new players in, very disappointing stadium transition and a very gloomy forum

Despite this, we have a match on, and the only thing that will cheer us up is not just a win, but a very convincing one as well.

First home game of the season is always exciting even if it is not our real home. 3 points is crucial and a good performance to get the supporters back on side. We seem to be taking it out on the team e.g. Im not going to Wembley, I want a refund on my ticket blah blah blah. We need to get behind the team as we have a great chance of success this year.

I'm going for a 3-0 win. COYS

Only bad thing about it is Lucy Zelic harping on about Poch and Kane leaving for Madrid, and the way she says Dele Alli:banhappy:

It was constant last season. They'll repeat rumours from terrible sources as if it's actually happening or even remotely true. And then she'll bring it back, somehow, to Liverpool because she's a fan. Never mind. Apart from that, it's good coverage. Michael Bridges was on last week as a Spurs fan.

Buzzing for the first ‘home’ game, no more winging about transfers or stadiums it’s time to focus on the game and take the 3pts.

Got a good feeling about Kane today think he’ll break the Aug duck with an early pen and then follow up with a 2nd in the second half.

Let’s meet the swines head on today- I’d love to see us accommodate Moura and Lamela in the team and just outclass them in the final third

3 points are massively important today with some tough games coming up. I'd take a 1-0 but it would be nice to put a team to the sword early in the season to shut up those still going on about our transfer window.

3-1 I reckon. Dele at the double.
