Three changes to the team that started against Huddersfield in the Premier League last weekend. Hugo Lloris, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks come in for Paulo Gazzaniga, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen.

Match: English Premier League (EPL) - Match Day 8

When: Saturday 6th October 2018

Where: Wembley Stadium

Kick Off: 3:00pm

Referee: Mike Dean

Form: Spurs LWDWL Cardiff LLLLL (all competitions)

This will be the 3rd EPL meeting between us and Cardiff, with we winning both matches 1-0 during the 2013-14 season. Cardiff are winless in 7 matches against us in all competitions (W0,D2, L5), scoring just once in those matches, a 2-1 defeat league defeat in January 1978.

We have won our last 7 home matches in all competitions against Cardiff, scoring 19 and conceding 5. We have won 13 of our last 15 home league matches against Welsh sides (D2) since Cardiff won a 2-0 in a top flight match n November 1954. This will be Cardiff's first game at Wembley since the 2012 League cup final against Liverpool, where they lost on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

We are unbeaten in 37 EPL games against promoted sides (W34, D3) since losing to QPR in April 2012. The run is the 2nd longest of its kind in the EPL, after Chelsea's record of 63 between May 2001 and September 2011. We have lost our last home EPL game against Liverpool, but we have not lost back to back EPL home games since May 2015, vs Aston Villa and Man City at White Hart Lane.

Cardiff are winless in their 7 EPL games so far this season - only twice in their history have they failed to win any of their first 8 games in a league campaign (1964-65 in the second tier and 1989-90 in the third division).

Kane has scored against 26 of the 27 different sides he has faced in the EPL. The only side he has yet to find the net against is Cardiff - he played just 16 minutes against them across two games in the 2013-14 campaign. Of the 28 players to have scored 100 EPL goals, Harry is one of just 2 who has scored fewer home goals (54) than away (59) - Ryan Giggs is the other

If Lamela doesn't start this game, there's something wrong. Has to be first name on the teamsheet at the moment.

Harry looked like regaining a little form vs Barca. I think I'll have a cheeky bet on a Kane brace and a Lamela goal from outside the box. 3-0 win.

Would assume it’s because of his injury record and not wanting him to overdo it. But all things being equal I would love Lamela to start every game

I give up if KWP doesn’t start today

And Lamela has to start also, not just this game but every game

Lamela went off injured the other night so he might not play.
We really are having bad luck with injuries this season

Hope to see Winks getting another 90 minutes today. We desperately need his qualities when he’s at his best. I’d imagine Poch will rotate Wanyama with Dier. Son’s been underwhelming lately but I’d like to see him play himself back into form because a free scoring Son is a very useful thing. I desperately hope Lamela’s injury free and starts today; he’s the heart the beats for the team at the moment. And Kane is loooking sharper too, meaning if I don’t buy him for my fantasy team, he’ll carry on scoring

Mike Dean .. "Gulp"

Used to be mike dean yes! That completely changed last season though when he let the media and other fans get to him that he would always favour us when officating our games. Now seems to go out of his way to give decisions against us

Would i bet on us getting 3 points today? No. We desperately need to step up our game when it comes to breaking teams down. Also it only takes 1 long throw to catch us out and concede and a ton of timewasting.

Winks is key to our season imo.
The state of our midfield with Wanyama and Dembele playing bit parts due to injury. Winks need to step up and produce more performances like his 2nd half vs Barcelona the other night

Just looked up the team new and can’t see a mention of lamela, so fingers crossed your right?
It was calf cramp and he's been in full training post Barca. No reason he doesn't start unless Poch decides to rest him for some crazy reason.

Winks has been one third of the injury problem? We need to keep all three fit, given the number of games we have to play. Having not signed anyone to bolster the position, with the evidence we needed to clear as daylight. Fit, match sharp, confidence, development- Harry's only halfway along the path at the moment, so don't heap it all on him.

Nothing less than 3 points and all Spurs players ordered to rest during international break. Because: reasons. Cheers!
