BBC Radio 5 live sports extra and BBC Radio London

Kick Off 3pm Sunday 7th January

This is the fourth time we've been drawn against Wimbledon in the FACup and the first in their current form.

Previous encounters in the FA Cup

March 1987 - FA Cup Quarter Final (A) 2-0 with Hoddle and Waddle scoring the goals
On the bench that day were Nico Claesen and Neil Ruddock. I can't remember if it was only two subs at the time or there wasn't enough room on it once Ruddock sat his lardy arse on it. Anyhoo, this was the game in which he made his Spurs debut, coming on for Gary Stevens.

February 1993 - FA Cup 5th Round (H) 3-2 Anderson, Barmby and Oh Teddy Teddy
My memory is a bit hazy on this one, I think this game was just before the season where we had the fab five and the shit six. We got knocked out of the competition by the Scum at Wembley

January 1999 - FA Cup 4th Round (A) 1-1 Ginola
January 1999 - FA Cup 4th Round Replay (H) 3-0 Sinton, Nielsen (2)
This season we got knocked out at the Semi Final stage by Newcastle United. One of our very very many SF fuck-ups

No live coverage excepting for BBC Radio.

Oh and seeing as it's Wimbledon, I could have got e with a tennis type theme, but I went the other way....

Here you go...

My first season following the club. I can still remember sitting down and watching that game on tv with my Nan and grandad. That was proper Spurs that team.

Sorry, but we have never had previous encounters with this team. We had encounters with Wimbledon FC before they became MK Dons, but this game is an out and out first.

That said, in 99 we did knock Wimbledon out of the league cup at semi final stage, before going on to beat Leicester in the final.
I should know... It's only because my brother and I bunked off my gran's funeral to go to the 2nd leg, that we got tickets for the final!

Yeah well I'm showing a bit of solidarity with their 'proper' fans and I do mention that's it's our first game with them in their current guise. I do this in the first line of the OP. Which in your rush to be a flange, you obviously never read :D

Looking forward to seeing some different players, and the FAC is still the one I want after all these years.

I proper hated the Wombles when they played anti football, from Vinnie to Fash and all in between. But strangely, looking back, especially after the franchise move, I have a soft spot for them now.

Bimbledon are my local football league side, and have been to see them a few times, so have a bit of a soft spot for them. Having a disastrous season, so even with our youngsters out, I expect us to progress... Unless they park their bus.

Totally agree. It's probably rose tinted spectacles but it makes me feel quite sentimental now and of course it's 20 years since the original Dons last won the FA cup. Fashanu was definitely quite ahem 'committed'and didn't he do Mabbs some real damage in a game once?

My mum's from Wimbledon so have always sort of wanted them to do well, right from the legendary Dickie Guy through to where they are now. Except when they played Spurs, of course.
