From the quotes in the press conference it really sounds like Lamela is a mental issue. Scan is fine. Sometimes pain, sometimes not. Poch obviously doesn't have a clue whats going on with him.

@BenPearceSpurs: Pochettino still can't give timeframe on Lamela: "I can't say one week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, one month or maybe next season, I dont know"

@BenPearceSpurs: #thfc Pochettino: "Sometimes he’s involved from the beginning in the warm-up with the team. Sometimes he feels pain and we change the plan."

Said before, I doubt we'll see him this season and nothings changed my mind. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if we never see him in a spurs shirt again.

Even if there is nothing dodgy or suspicious about his absence, his first season was hampered by what transpired was a mystery back/hip issue and it looks like he'll spend the best part of this season out with a similar thing. Doesn't look good to me, and I think if we get a decent offer for him he'll be off.

On form he is a great player and I miss the fact that we don't have him as an option in the squad because he is capable of turning a game in our favour.
He did have a very slow start at the club and initially look a bad buy. However Poch stuck by him and he improved in leaps and bounds until this injury.
I really do hope he makes a full recovery from whatever is bothering him and we do see him in a Spurs shirt again and for a long time.

pain can be very difficult to treat particularly if it is involving nerve damage which with hip/back area it may well be. Look at how long Alderweirelds injury took to heal despite no muscle/bone/ligament injury on the scan. I think sturridge's historical injury problems have been similar in nature. The pain will be real to the individual but it's so longstanding that there will be a psychological element to it and its difficult to determine whether the pain he is feeling is something he can push through or whether it is potentially doing damage. All the club and fans can do is be patient and hopefully we'll get last seasons lamela back soon.

Lamela still hasn't signed a new contract, injured or not, he'll either have to sign up or go.
