My favourite bit of the game, apart from the goal obviously, was Kane feigning injury in the second half so we could regroup. Albeit for only a few minutes.

Straight from the Sergio Ramos playbook. 4 time Champions League winner.

Sarri saying the players were put off by the lino raising the flag - he didn’t raise it until the goalie fouled Kane anyway so that’s bullshit. It seemed like that at the game and the clips have pretty much confirmed it so I’m not sure why he/they keep going on about it.

Stuff I haven’t seen since I got in.....

Was Son’s foul early on a foul?

Was Lamela’s a foul when he was in on goal.

The ref seemed to give a hell of a lot to Chelsea today and let a few against us go unpunished but it’s difficult to tell at the game sometimes.

Reminded me of the Juventus tie from last season's Champions League. Except we were Juve. I'll take it.

Looking at the evidence Chelsea have, it's clear that Kane is offside.
definitely looks onside

The amount of dodgy calls they have got against us over the many years including a ref today that seemed intent on awarding them everything, I'll take it, and it's such a fine margin anyway in a game without VAR if the lino done his job properly he would have gave the striker the benefit of doubt in such a close call.

I love Sanchez's defensive ability, his speed and physicality and all that business. But the one thing that winds me up is the amount of times he passes back to the keeper. Fiar enough do it now and again when under pressure, but it's like he chooses to do it with the just slightest hint of pressure from an attacker. Ordinarily it's fine against weak opposition and Hugo or gazza can start again passing to a fullback, but against a team that presses from the front like Chelsea did today you end up in a far worse position with either a hoof upfield or putting another player under REAL pressure the result, he needs to be braver in possession.
Its what he has been coached to do.

Haha at Chelsea trying to claim they got done. That was a tired performance from us tonight and as poor in the second half as we can really be. We learned a lesson from the Wolves game and ground out a win despite clear fatigue. I think Chelsea will come into the second leg confident but I think they’ll find us with a bit more zip than tonight.

The pen was so clear. The commentators going on about it being given on VAR referral makes it sound like there was an element of doubt. All decisions about pens would be referred to VAR, that's the point of it.

Was Lamela’s a foul when he was in on goal.
One thing that drives me crazy when watching on TV is the amount of replays they show - especially when the game is in progress.

On the stream I was watching there wasn't a clear view of the Lamela incident, so I sat back and confidently waited for the replay that would prove that it was a bullshit call and that Lamela was penalised for nothing. But guess what: there was no fucking replay. In a broadcast that showed Sarri making a note on a piece of paper for about fifteen seconds while play went from one end of the pitch to the other they didn't show a replay of a key incident. At all. Even when there was a break in play. Wankers.

So I'm sorry but I can't help you.

EDIT
To add insult to injury the commentator was Peter Fucking Drury. Irritating ****. Why that prick gets the big games I'll never know. And the co-commentator was some muppet ex-player who produced several asinine comments with a level of insight equal to 'the team that scores the most goals will win the match'. Where do they get these idiots?

Thank God I was watching on a stream. If I'd had to pay for that broadcast I think I'd have topped myself.

So what is the actual rule re offside. Is it any part of the body or the front foot? His knee and head looked offside but his foot was onside. Anyway fuck you Chelsea haha

How long will it be before football's lawmakers allow managers/coaches to challenge the decisions made by the on-field officials, like NFL coaches are allowed to do?

How? During the game? After?

Explain how that would work.

Ive been thinking about this. i know not a recommended thing , but i think the game worked out to poch's plan...
How so? Well the chelsea fans are saying if both teams play the same they'll do us at the dump. But thats really the point isnt it...chelsea have to play an attacking team next game. Either they field a reserve squad, and give it away, or more likely they come racing out the traps. Chelsea havent got the firepower to play us in an open end to end game, and will probably get mauled if we can manage to turn up. Thats what i think poch is waiting for. The question is , is sarri clever enough to realise, and field a team to hold possesion. probably not, or maybe hes forced into a counter attacking setup. We played very narrow, i dont expect that at the bridge. One thing we will need is a DM that can stand up to hazard. He was angling for a touch so he could fallover in the box. Hazard is too dangerous to let roam around the place.

They pretty much all gave the ball away a lot but despite that we defended very well. What's the weather like over there? :D

You're right, but the subject of the original post was Alli and my comment was about Alli, not the rest of the team(y)

The weather? Cloudy with a chance of meatballs:D
