The 20 English Premier League clubs had a total of 764 football injuries during the 2018-19 season – the most in the last eight years. A likely consequence of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, player fatigue, and shortening summer recovery times.

The fact we finished top four and reached the ECL final is amazing under the circumstances.

And we got a surprising number of games out of some players.
Far more than we could have expected, given Lamela's long term problems, Winks and Rose's injuries from last season, Trippier's WC injury and Son's continual call ups.
And even Eriksen after it was rumoured he had a chronic injury of some sort.

It could have been much worse imo.

Slightly vague statistic without context

- we had the 2nd most individual injuries (61) behind Man Utd (63). Chelsea/Liverpool were joint 3rd with 50.

- our team had the 3rd most injured minutes (1,652) behind West Ham (2,003) and Arsenal (1,771).

- we were the 5th most financially affected club by injuries (17.9m spent on injured players) after City (26.3), Utd (25.2), Arsenal (24.2) and West Ham (22.3). Sixth was Liverpool with 15.2.

Only second! It was certainly the worst season I can remember for injuries. Think we would have won something if it wasn’t so bad. It seemed like we couldn’t keep the same 11 for more than a game or two. Credit to the team and to Poch for achieving what they did!

We also racked up a massive amount of minutes with players playing through injuries. Trippier and Davies had chronic problems that needed surgery. Kane and Winks struggled on, Dier had injury and illness issues, we pretty much did without Dembele til he was sold, and Wanyama was crocked from the off. Lamela was his usual self and Sonny was off Globe trotting for weeks. None of those could be considered squad fillers - they were all front line troops for us. We were so, so lucky to get away with the nil transfer policy and it could have backfired massively.

Exactly. These stats are bad enough but when you add in Son playing in Asia twice and illnesses, it's amazing we weren't mid table.

Some players are just more injury prone than others . The player that covers the most distance in running on the pitch has consistently been Eriksen yet is rarely injured . All the Spurs players train the same and are subject to the same testing so is it Poch's training regime or are just some bodies weaker than others.

Last season was unusual for the amount of injuries we had, the World Cup and lack of preseason/preparation going into the new season took a massive toll on the players so much so that those players all got injured or were all carrying injuries in the season.

West Ham figures are skewed because of Wilshire and Andy Carroll though

So much for having the best training facilities in the country, yes I know the WC and lack of break had an effect, but this is the second year we have had numerous injuries

Injuries unfortunately is part of the game, players will alway get them. Take Dele Alli his been injured since before the World Cup and to me has an underlining injury that needs to be looked at Dier Kane in and out Wanyama Lamela usual Winks Eriksen I think every player suffered at some point during last season. We can only trust our medical staff / science and facilities to deal with this and we have a clean bill of health. All players health and fit we have such a powerful squad

The thing with Eriksen's position is that it doesn't really require the demanding turns and sprints that other positions do. It's not like a forward trying to get on the end of a through ball or a defender having to make a recovery sprint and last ditch tackle. Added to that, Eriksen rarely gets involved in the grubby business of tackling, but he does cover a hell of a lot of ground during a match.

A lot of the other teams had injuries, but what sets us apart is the amount of injuries to nearly ALL our key players. At one point we had Kane, Son, Deli, Eriksen I believe? all out at the same time. Only City could cope with that. 'Pool would really struggle. We did incredibly well considering.
