It was endlessly end-to-end. No-one wanted it to end. No-one apart from Spurs who dug deep and then dug deeper to show extraordinary reserves of resilience and resistance and set up a mouth-watering semi-final against another vibrant young team in Ajax.

To all those so-called Spurs fans (some of them on this forum) and the media, who are so fond of insultingly calling us 'Spursy'. Up yours - we aren't so 'Spursy' now.

It's not Spursy conceding 5 goals away to City (4 after Var)
Spursy is keeping a clean sheet at home to City, scoring 3 away against all odds to get to the next round, then getting twatted by Ajax.

I have nothing but respect for Ajax. They're genuine European royalty. They have got where they are because they're good.
But if we go through all that to then go out to Ajax, that's the very definition of "Spurs"

Oh get off your high horse. I have no idea why some people take this banter so personally. The whole ‘Spursy’ thing didn’t come out of nothing you know, we’ve thoroughly earned this reputation over the years! It’s going to take a long time to shake it off, but overtime we will I’m sure. Need to start by winning a couple of trophies though I reckon! The Champions League will do - COYS!!

Utter bullshit. Ajax completely outplayed and knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus to get to the semi finals. Two teams that have knocked us out of the tournament.

If we lose to Ajax, it's because they're a fucking good team who look like they can beat literally any team on the planet.

And we'll be playing the first leg without our two top scorers.

City would, as at this time, knock Real, Juve and Ajax out with relative ease IMO.
Real have been piss poor this season. They are well and truly back to the days of big names with no leaders.
Juve, great team, mostly defensive. Knocked us out by spending 90 minutes conning the referee at Wembley though. We thoroughly out played them for 170 out of 180 minutes of football.

Little talk about the Pochettino effect-and how he can squeeze water from a stone
He is a top manager and I'm convinced better than Gaurdiola who has major weaknesses thanks to his ego.
In Germany they talk only about Pep's fuk up and not a word about our magnificent manager

Because he didn't have half a billion quid to blow on shiny new toys.

Funny how he did so well at Barcelona and City (although his quadruple could be a domestic cup double by Saturday evening) but relatively little success at Bayern with far less resources (still major compared to many clubs in Europe)

Clubs that qualify for the knockout stage can expect to receive the following amounts:
• qualification for the round of 16: €9.5m per club
• qualification for the quarter-finals: €10.5m per club
qualification for the semi-finals: €12m per club
• qualification for the final: €15m per club
• The UEFA Champions League winners can expect to pick up an additional €4m.

€12m for that win. Hopefully we can get further and use it to strengthen the squad for next season. ?

In caes it has escaped you, the point is that it isn't banter in the majority of cases. It's demeaning and absolute cobblers. And don't give me that 'earned it over the years' - I've been supporting Spurs for 60 years and there have always been good times and bad. All teams go through patches where they play like a bunch of amateurs and lose games they should win.

No 'Spursy' has absolutely nothing to do with reaching a champions league semi final, it never has been and never will be.

Wow, had the most surreal dream last night.

We went to the Etihad without our best player and captain, conceded a goal in the first few minutes, scored two to take the control of the game, lost our player of the year to injury, concede three, level it up on aggregate, concede an injury time goal, and out of nowhere VAR rules it out and we advanced.

Scriptwriters couldn't conceive of it, so not realistic for me.

Our captain did go, and played.

Yeah I'm that pathetic.

Good info, thanks. Plus the extra revenue from another home game. Happy days.
