I am going to Buenos Aires for Christmas and probably hopping over to Uruguay where I hear the beaches are really good. I'll be missing the Fulham game on Boxing Day and wondered if anyone had any advice on where I could watch it.

Also, has anyone been to Argentina and where would you say are 'must see' places? (I'm only there for 12 days so no time to go to Patagonia unfortunately. I have never been to South America and I am flying out to be with my daughter, who is backpacking around the continent.

Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.

too late, but I'm from Argentina, and yes, the best beaches are in Uruguay. From Punta del Este until the brazilian border.
Must see places in Argentina are in the extremes of the country. In the triple border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay is the Iguazu Falls. Must see. Then you should visit in the south the cities of Bariloche, Calafate and Ushuaia.

the info is too late for midostouch, but it may help any other that may travel

Thanks Ossie - it is too late yes, but I had a wonderful time anyway. I only had time to go to Buenos Aires (including San Isidro and Tigre) and Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay but it was well worth it. My highlight was going to see Boca Juniors v Tigre at Racing Club's stadium. The atmosphere was like nothing I've ever experienced. Boca won the league that night - it was a shame Riquelme was suspended but they had some good players on show.

I've always wanted to go to Argentina, especially as my grandmother was born there.

Far too late for the OP, but if anyone is coming out here PM me if you have any questions. I rarely venture into this part of the forums but am around pretty much every day and would be happy to help.

Move out here nearly 2 years ago following several long stays so I know much of Buenos Aires very well.

Same message as Billick from me. Been here for ten years if anyone needs any advice (not sure my wife will let me go drinking with you mind :) )

Good to know there are more Argentinian people here. How much we are? Of course, if someone of the UK/anywhere travels to Argentina and need some help, just DM me or write here.

Hi! I'm from Capital! From "Caballito" neighborhood (in the middle of the city). In which part of the city were you living? Did you enjoy your time here?

I lived in Belgrano R and Colegiales, not too far from you. Yeah I loved it there, I will be moving back maybe end of next year permanently.

Funny enough I'm a Sanlo fan.

I am retraining as a programmer, so will be a while before I return permanently but the aim is to work remotely and live back there. I have a few other business ideas but want a base to be secure with. Thanks mate, I'll let you know when I'm next back in town
