The 'safe standing' area will only become that if the law changes. Having it doesn't give people the excuse to stand there, they are (currently) breaking the rules in there just as much as they would be by standing anywhere else.

Singing knees up mother brown is a bastard when sitting down, perhaps that's why it died out :D

Too right, some people can only sit and those selfish people that (wrongly) think you can only support your team by standing are forcing others to do the same, when they've paid their money for a seat.
As others have said, choosing the South Stand- which is the home end - when you can't stand during the match, was probably a bad idea.

Yeah I can't see this ending well...I sa at least 2 people get chucked out of Paxton against Palace for refusing to sit down.
The second guy had a good point, why were the South stand allowed to stand with no-one getting warned/ejected?
That's bollocks. The stewards spent the whole 2nd half trying to get people to sit down.
The bottom section of the Park Lane has the safe standing barriers, for the purpose of "safe standing".

Higher up then I say it's fair play, sit down. It's bloody steep, there's no barriers, and it only takes one drunken stumble/trip for some serious harm to happen. Atmosphere fine, but its a bit of common sense really.

I know you southerners aren't great at that... :sneaky::whistle::coffee:
People are going to stand up and jump around if we score anyway, regardless if they are originally sitting or standing.

I realise that the club need to be seen to be doing something, but it certainly doesn't help if our own fans are constantly moaning to the stewards to get people to sit down, why people just cannot accept how some like to stand and some like to sit and don't go to the right areas, I just don't know.

This whole thing is like Marmite ...or maybe Bexit is more like it. Guess in this day and age of me first the idea of people considering others is weird

Bullshit.

Maybe your larynx stop functioning when you sit down, and if so you need to get that seen to.

Mine work fine standing or sitting with no discernible difference in decibel level...

Science doesn't back your response fella :D

We kindly ask for your co-operation for a total of 60 seconds ....
Come on - that's not so bad...

Seriously, I think fans need to play the game - this is a high profile game and it will defuse the situation if Park Lane fans are seen to be seated when the camera pans about.
Once the interest has died down in the stadium, then rules can be bent.

I'd love to be able to stand up during the games, but

1. I'm in row 5 of North Upper and had slight vertigo even when celebrating the goals the other day
2. Sexy Sally who sits behind me will probably give me a clip round the ear.

Don't pretend you don't know who you are Sexy Sally, I saw you giving me the eye during the Palace game. Or was it constipation? o_O

Exactly 27 in the entire stand.
I'll take that as a 'none' then.
They're obviously gonna step up their efforts tonight what with the warnings to the Sth stand...it'll be interesting to see how this is received.

Fair enough, but my main point is that against Palace it was half hearted at best.
Id be fucking pissed off if I was one of the two bloke who got kicked out near me, they got kicked out, then the stewards who did it didn't come back, and everyone else just stood up for the rest of the game.

We spend a billion to create a fantastic atmosphere... then tell people to sit down and behave. Nah, don't believe that. Haven't read the article 'cause I can't be arsed.

Great aren't they.

I know they aren't a patch on Worzel gummidge (who i presume you listen to going by your avatar ;) )

Not my cup of tea BUT their album "Allow us to be Frank" is flipping brilliant (and was actually recommended to me by a Millwall supporting nutjob of a mate).
