The quick start is the thing we have been missing all season, whoever the manager has been. It changes the whole complexion of the game, forces the other team to come out and opens up space to exploit. All perfectly obvious. Why oh why we have been so tentative, effectively saying to teams at WHL, 'Hit me! Hit me!' is completely beyond me. The only things I can think are that it's caused by nervousness and anxiety in front of a home crowd; and it just taking an age for the penny to drop with brand new players unfamiliar with the speed and physicality of the PL. Next season will be better. Must keep saying it.

I thought Tim's celebration for our first goal was OTT however was a good result though it should have been a least 5-0.
Thanks Tim for being caretaker untill we get an experienced manager. That period enabled us not to rush into anything.

I agree; however, not sure if it could be put down to nervousness/anxiety for new players, given that the new players hardly played together :). The vast majority of our team, on matchday, would be seasoned professionals and PL players

The cause of nervousness perhaps? Fair point though Avon. I am kerflummoxed and kermystified as to why they freeze or sleepwalk into games. I have written on a previous thread that they need a psychologist to get them over this. It's a killer.

I agree about a psychologist. I think it would help.

Totally agree. It's that 'winning' mentality, I suppose....but even so, you would think one or two players would have that naturally within them. Yet, in matches, they all seem to just start so slowly.
